A devoted young mother who lives in constant fear that her husband, a bomb disposal expert, won't come home takes comfort in sex with strangers. When her husband Lenny takes their four-year-old son to the football one Saturday afternoon, she has sex in front of the TV with Jasper, a charismatic tabloid journalist who she picks up in her local pub. As she watches, the football stadium is ripped apart by a massive explosion, killng her husband and son.
The police have told her that the bodies are too badly damaged to identify but Jasper brings her the battered remains of her son's favourite toy rabbit, the one that he was carrying at the time of the explosion. if the rabbit has survived, then why hasn't her son? She realizes that what she's being told by the authorities, and what actually happened, are worlds apart.
