　　淑蘭 (陳寶珠 飾) 廚藝了得，幫母親打理餐館生意，得姨丈勝平與富商齊達才盛讚。才遺下文件，蘭往才辦公室交回，遇上子民 (呂奇 飾) ，二人互相吸引。蘭妹淑芬 (馮寶寶 飾) 生性好動，母親 (夏萍 飾) 見蘭只顧工作，與芬齊鼓勵她與民交往。民母欲替民選妻，相約露薇 (沈殿霞 飾) 進膳，巧遇蘭。才夫婦見民與蘭合拍深感欣慰。雙方家長會面，允許二人正式交往。芬撞破母親謊言，原來她一直瞞騙女兒，以工作為名，實乃約會舊情人。婚宴中消息傳到民母，蘭離開齊家。蘭姊妹往質問母親，母強忍苦衷。民勸蘭回家與蘭母傾談。原來蘭母只是照顧病重的恩人。母女三人冰釋誤會，民、蘭終成眷屬。

Excellent movie in spite of the cuts Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I have been reading that China FE products cuts a lot of the movies and that is very unfortunate however, any Chan Bo Chu that you can get is priceless-because there will never been another Chan Bo Chu or person of her talents. I have never seen this movie so I have a chance. Of course, I do not know what is cut - and yes, I can see some parts did not correlate but I overlooked that. The movie's premise is very good - it is about love for your parent, sister and your own love - how forgiveness is everything and how happiness is what life is all about. It is a very pure and innocent movie - I believe that is why Chan Bo Chu's movies has survived the times and why people are still watching them.I do not mean the modern movies, I am referring to all her movies- mo hop, cantonese opera, etc...
