Predictable yet thrilling Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
The plot was great & it was easily understandable whether it was by predictablility or the effective story telling. Unfortunately you are left with knowing the audience had only a mere glimpse of the possible depth of the character themselves. Regardless, kudos to the powerhouse actors who portrayed & expressed their complexity effectively. This version allows you to view the alternate ending in the special features. There is the subtle & blatant difference that also deserves a head-nod.

Taut and suspenseful thriller Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Tony Leung, Andy Lau and Eric Tsang all are at the top of their game in this intricate, edge-of-your-seat tale of undercover cops and robbers. My only gripe is that the characters played by Kelly Chen, Sammi Cheung, and Elva Hsiao are given too little screen time; their characters are too thin to have any real life. They exist just to develop some of the backstory for the lead characters. However, this is a minor quibble. "Infernal Affairs" is a state-of-the-art thriller and I highly recommend it.

One of the best HK movies Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I enjoyed the whole film. Action filled. Andy Lau is really great. You should watch this. Even the younger Andy and younger Tony played their roles pretty well. You should watch out for the prequel. They are real great.

Infernal affairs Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This movie has to be in my top 5 ever. This will have you sitting at the edge of your seat. The end has a real twist. The plot is very well thought out, and easy to follow, just pay attention.
Buy this movie, you will love it.

Great Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This movie is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Definitely not confusing...Just pay attention and you'll be fine. The american version will not replace it. It's not possible. It's too well thought out, and put together o be ruined.

What is WRONG with the Americans? Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This movie is one of the best movies to come out of HK. The storyline and filming is very much Hollywood style. In a nutshell, a triad mole is placed in the police force and an undercover police officer is placed within the triad. When both sides knew that they have been infiltrated, it is a race against time to find and kill each other.

To understand the WHOLE story, one must watch the whole trilogy. But make sure you keep the dates clear when watching otherwise it could get very confusing.

The US marketing of this DVD is very much laughable. The story does not revolve around any woman at all. This is false advertising... misleading... the product does not reflect the sample (as a saying goes). What is wrong with the Americans? Why can't they just accept the product as it is... WHY OH WHY do they have to change EVERYTHING?!?!

I have the trilogy already but if I haven't bought it yet, I wouldn't buy this version. The cover does not reflect the movie at all.

Cover MISLEADING! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
The first thing I wanted to see about this version is what it is so different from the asian version. As soon as I clicked, I saw the cover. Oh my God, I laughed so much I almost choked on my ice tea, haha. Then I came back to my senses and realize that my question was answered. The US version needed an extra push to attract foreign viewers: The chinese stereotype. For those who thinks the designer is a retard (which I also agree 50%), check this out...There is a reason why the woman is there, it's due to the awkwardly named english title "INFERNAL AFFAIRS". Now, picture yourself as a typical male american, bored and full of hormones. As soon as you see this red hot cover consisting of a "sexy" woman and the word affair (having infernal as an adjective doesn't help either), you might actually pick this up (thinking that the infernal affair is about the love triangle between Andy, Tony and the mysterious woman). Well, this misleading cover might actually help to build up some popularity in the US for the movie and the actual actors itself, which is most important (to the business). I have to semi-applaud the one who thought of this, with a laugh.

could be better Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
The main idea and the story plot was really interesting and original but I don't think they did the best they could. Some scenes were very abrupt and the ending was horrible. The twist was not really a twist. I'm just disappointed because with their casting, they really could have done an awsome job.

Good movie Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is the movie for people to use their "brain" and their eyes to watch. Its not like the movie "Hard Boiled". You don't need to think but only enjoy all the action scenes.
This movie is popular in HK because it is different from the old style movies.
