Professional Review of "It Takes Two (Japan Version)"

March 22, 2005

Chemistry is back with a new single, once again showcasing their spectacular vocals as well as a more varied and interesting sonic palette. The disc kicks off with It Takes Two, a sexy, sophisticated cut featuring the smooth urban sound and slick production that is dominating the Oricon charts these days. As always, the boys in Chemistry really shine in the vocal department, and this track stands up to any of their previous work in this respect. Track two, SOLID DREAM, continues in the sophisticated vein, but this time their harmonies are backed up by a retro groove that would sound right at home on late 70's AM radio. Not too slow. Not too fast. Just good, melodic pop and tight playing. The final vocal cut on the single is a fun curveball of a song entitled MOVE ON. From the first synthesizer notes and electronic drum sounds, it is obvious that Chemistry is ready to have some fun with techno. At times reminiscent of Frankie Goes to Hollywood's Relax and other techno songs from the late 80's, MOVE ON is a nonstop adrenaline pumper that is sure to get people shaking their booties on the dance floor. The last three songs are instrumental versions of the first three, and although their are no vocals, the tight playing by Chemistry's band helps these cuts to work even without vocals.

subarashii~ Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I can't wait till their second album. I love this the first song. but i don't like the second song. anyways: their voice is great, you must listen to them. i'm chinese, and i have no idea what their saying...but you can really feel it. I also highly recommend Shin Seung Hun (a korean artist who is a LEGEND) also brown eyes (as other people already have, they have great voice, and they compose and write all their music~very talented). Anyways, get this album now!!!!!

NICE Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
As an american, I recently got into japanese music...but this group is probably the only one I like so far. these guys can really sing...their voice is perfect. they remind me a lot of the korean group BROWN EYES~who also have perfect voices. I highly recommend this cd...along with brown eyes. If you want quality music get them now.

Another score for Chemistry! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Their vocal talent of course is still great! This cd has a great variety of styles. It Takes Two seems to have the same style as their first couple of songs like Pieces of A Dream. Solid Dream is very warm and touching. The definite twist is in Move On. The techno style sounds like a lot of fun, even cartoony :D I HIGHLY recommend it!

pretty bomb Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Ive been listenin to Chemistry for a while now(since they came out) and their musics pretty good. This new single is a tight song, but its too soft for my taste. All in all, you should get it.
