    August 18, 2009 C-ute Is As C-ute Does Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
C-ute's latest single is a very perky throwback to their first album. I'm told the title translates roughly to "Midsummer Greetings". Some very catchy keyboards start things off as C-ute sings a line in unison. Certain parts of the song they hum in unison as well. It's certainly danceable, and it makes me smile. It's a remake of a song I'm not too familiar with (I did see the video once), and it's a sugary sweet song perfect for fans of J-Pop girl groups. The second track is a solo by Airi Suzuki, my favorite girl in the group. This song is titled "Late Summer Greetings". It's very soft and beautiful, much like Airi herself. Completing the CD is an instrumental of song 1. There are some really cute pictures of the girls on the thin insert sheet, which also prints the lyrics (in Japanese). Definitely worth the $13 I paid for it.

    June 30, 2009 Oops! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I want to apologize for the mistake in my review. I said the names were switched for Maimi and Airi. I was wrong. I simply didn't do enough research on the girls prior to writing my review. I don't know how to correct the review, so I just thought I'd add this.
I'd also like to add that I'm very impressed with the songs by Saki and Mai ("Sunny Street Platinum") and Erika ("Do Don Ga Don Ondo", whatever this means).

June 27, 2009 As Cute As Can Be Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The first thing I want to say is that I'm new to the world of cuteness that is the Japanese pop group C-ute.
I became a fan only this month, listening to music and watching videos on the internet. By the end of the first week of my exposure to C-ute, I had placed an order for the very CD I'm reviewing from the very site I'm typing this on. I'd have to say that my favorite song is "Meguru Koi No Kisetsu" ("Season Of Love Coming Around"), due to its fast pace and high energy. This is a song that'll keep you dancing, or at least keep your feet tapping. Plenty of other good songs are also here, like "Sakura Chirari" ("Cherry Blossoms, Glimpse"), a typical cute dance number and the very happy "LALALA Song Of Happiness". Six of the girls are paired for duets, while Erika Umeda gets her own track. I love "Image Color", Maimi Yajima and Airi Suzuki's song, for it's mid-paced groove. Of course, C-ute doesn't get any cuter than with "Sweeeets ----- Live", the song pairing Chisato Okai and Kanna Arihara. If only legit U.S. CD releases were coming so I could read the lyrics. One small complaint: On pages 2-3 of the booklet, the girls names are printed in English above each girl. Maimi's and Airi's names are mixed up. All in all, a good CD of modern Japanese music.
