Emphasizing fast romances and fleeting love,the melodies,lyrics,music arrangement and singing in all of the songs successfully reflect the album title's concept of lost love and betrayal in a fast paced city. Track one,a medium tempo ballad emotionally sung in an affirmative and rectifying tone, is an edifying song that perks up one's morale and encourages self improvement in a in a city replete with vices. Track nine is a morally uplifting ballad performed in a very caring and sincere voice that is emotionally touching. All in all, it's not the simple lyrics that call attention to these songs, but it's Alan's trance-inducing voice that moves and enriches one's conscience. Did you find this review helpful? June 15, 2009 The Best of all timeAlan tam is still on top of his singing, despite changes in his basic vocal harmony resulting from inevitable deterioration of vocal chord due to aging-- the texture of his voice becoming coarse and his tonality more strident. However, his singing skill in Cantonese is still unmatched by any other singer to date,and probably no one else ever will. So having read the flippant review written by the previous customer, I was compelled to post this message in response to what amount to nothing more than mere wild speculations and rampant travesty of truth. To say that I am flabbergasted to have read the aforementioned review would be an grotesque understatement--I am shocked,mortified,and baffled by the comments. I am still in disbelief that any person in his right senses could have written such mockery about the undisputed best Cantonese singer of all time. Did you find this review helpful? Although many of the songs in the album are not typical of Alan's singing techniques, and even as the melodies are not as easily appreciated as many of his other songs, Alan put forth a monumental effort and was able to harness notes together in a very convincing manner-- euphonious and rythymic--any other singer in Hong kong would have rendered this album unlistenable. The music arrangement , the melodies and lyrics, and Alan's tonality are consistent from song to song,all suggesting a recurring theme that's pervasive throughout the album--rythym and movement, Alan's vocal lines impeccably harmonizing with the music. Furthermore, musicianship was first rate, many working on the album being highly regarded musicians from Japan. And the recording, mixing and mastering were also excellent, though track #3 could have used a little bit more vibrancy and tonal color. Having a sensible order of tracks that shows good development of music and mood, this is an album that is meant to be enjoyed in the original order of its tracks from beginning to finish, much alike his "Gun and Romance" album which is argubly one of Alan's best work as a recording artist alongside his "Peace" album.
