Coming to DVD for the first time, Jinsei wa Jojo da (a.k.a. Life is Good) is one of Kimura Takuya's earliest TV dramas. Bringing in average viewership ratings of over 20%, the drama was aired on TBS in 1995, one year before Long Vacation sealed his status as the king of Japanese television. Kimura plays down-on-his-luck failed doctor Kazuma who forms an unlikely friendship with his debt collector Hachiro, played by popular Hey! Hey! Hey! Music Champ host and manzai comedian Hamada Masatoshi (Hama-chan of Downtown). Although Kazuma gets him falsely arrested during one of his escapes, Hachiro is impressed by his brazenness and decides to help him escape other debt collectors, too. The cast also includes Iijima Naoko, Toda Naho, and Ishida Yuriko.
