スピルバーグの原点とも言えるパニック映画の傑作。 マサチューセッツ州の小さな町・アメティの浜辺に、ある日無惨に食いちぎられた女性の死体が打ち上げられた。警察署長のブロディは、死体は"人喰いサメ"の仕業と推測し、市長に海水浴場閉鎖を直訴した。しかし、町への経済的打撃を危惧した市長は、死体は船のスクリューによるものとして取り合わず、予定通り海水浴場はオープン。いつもの夏と同様に大勢の観光客で賑わう海岸だったが、そんな中、突然、子供が海に引き込まれ、海面が鮮血に染まった。第二の犠牲者を出したことで、人喰いサメ退治が始まったが、サメは簡単に仕留められ、市長もブロディも一安心。しかし、海洋学者のフーパーは「こんな小さなサメじゃない」と失笑。そんなある日、賑わいを取り戻した海水浴場で再び犠牲者が出る。失意のブロディはサメ退治のプロ、クイントを雇い、海洋学者のフーパーとともに、血戦の海へと旅立った…。 ■映像特典：特典DISC付
