Joey Yung is no doubt one of the biggest stars amongst today's Canto-pop artists. A student of the late veteran singer Roman Tam, Joey has built her great popularity on vocal talent. Not only has she attracted a huge number of followers in Hong Kong, she has also extended her voice to Taiwan and Mainland China with Mandarin albums like Solo Photo, A Private Love Song, and, most recently, Little.
Paying tribute to the late Teresa Teng, Joey held a special concert, performing covers of the adored singer's songs. Now this once in a lifetime concert is available to everybody with the Joey Yung 2007 Best of Teresa Teng Concert Live release. This album is filled with Joey's personal renditions of some of Teresa's most memorable songs, including "Farewell My Lover" (CD - Track 3), "Village Romance" (CD - Track 7), and "Honey Sweet" (CD - Track 10).
This edition comes with a DVD featuring ten live video tracks.

I liked the DVD

I watched the DVD and enjoyed it very much. I have heard that Joey grew up idolizing Teresa Teng and I am sure that was one motivation for doing concert. Having said that, I do not have much of her music, just her latest CD "Little" which is great. So this was new to me. I just wished they would have put the whole concert on the DVD. But the 9 songs are very good and I think if you like Teresa Teng and Joey, you will enjoy the DVD/CD. Just my preference also, I enjoyed seeing her just dressed up nice, no costumes, just Joey. She performed very well. That is the way I would like to see her in concert. |

| Joey's company EEG always comes up with something to release, whether it's a new album, a mandarin album, a compilation, or one of these live concerts. Over the past few years, how many has she released? Numerous!! I'm getting tired of Joey's voice. When she first came out, she was great. But as her career moved along, she has become way too commercial and not unique anymore. Very disappointed in Joey. She should take more part in her music career, and not let EEG do all the work for her. Sigh. |
