I love every piano pieces in this drama. From the beginning to the end, the music and Korean songs in this drama fascinates me . Not just a wistful love story but the social issues keeps the story strong. Seo Do-Young, Daniel Henney and the female lead gave their best performances. It's no wonder it received the 2005 Baeksang Awards Grand Prize for TV Drama.
If you want a great captivating, romantic comedy, My Lovely Sam Soon, is the drama to watch. Kim Sam Soon , the female lead character, represents what most 30-something unmarried women face. The feeling of unattractiveness from her chubby image is so real. This leads to her constant desire to change her name to Kim Hee Jin to improve her image! She lost her boyfriend on Christmas eve and runs into the owner of a French restaurant, Hyeon Jin-Heon, in his mother's hotel. They keep crossing paths and eventually leading her to his restaurant to work as pastry chef. In addition, she agrees to become a fake girl friend to Jin Heon, in return for a monetary compensation so that she could help her mom to save their home.
The story turns when Jin Heon's old girlfriend, Yoo Hee-Jin, returns from United States and their old relationship revived. Due to her poor health, his mother objected to their continued relationship. In addition, her doctor from United States, Dr. Henry Kim [Daniel Henney] came with her. He is quietly in love with her and yet is patiently showing care and concern in Hee-Jin's fragile health without trying to intrude into her life. He is such a gentleman and so cute to watch as he shows his caring ways to Hee Jin.. It's a riot to watch him learn Korean from Sam Soon and I wished there were more of their interactions because it would be so humorous to watch to increase the comedy content of this drama! He is a real great gem to the story.
Other side comedy such as the relationship between Sam Soon's divorced sister with the Sous Chef at Jin Heon's restaurant is also delightful and amusing to watch. The theme song, Be My Love, is a real score and you will not forget it!
My Lovely Sam Soon is indeed a CHARMING LOVE COMEDY to watch. You will not regret this gem of a TV drama.

The cast is well chosen for each of the sisters as well as their male partners. The theme song and all the music in this drama are so appropriately chosen to depict the mood of the story.
Hae Jung fits the eldest sisterly image so well with her caring ways and her slow evolving love for Jun Ha and finally to marry him is really touching. So glad she got to meet the lively character, Jun Ha. He just brightens up her dull life and sorrowful life! I really enjoy watching Jun Ha [although he is not the main male actor] because he depicts a very positive personality despite the initial let down by Yu Jin [second sister] and throughout the drama he acts like a binding force for the sisters. Chae Rim and Hwang Su Jung perfectly fit their respective roles as doctors. Their struggles to overcome insurmountable family related issues of their past and inability to overcome their struggle to forget each other is heart-wrenching to watch. The 3rd sister's earlier arrangement marriage by their parents which led to a disastrous marriage, is a poignant declaration that love which is not experienced is not love at all. All the human elements and social issues of life in this story makes this drama so engrossing to watch.
Four Sisters is an excellent depiction of LOVE struggles from 4 different angles, each with their very unique difficulties to finally find the true love that their hearts desire. It is an outstanding and worthwhile drama to watch.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

I was looking toward watching this one but found it wanting.
Plenty of beautiful scenes of Japan & Tahiti. Story about personal struggles & family problems are touching. But the lead female lead character, Yu Bin was very exhausting to watch. Love is hard and she seemed to confuse pity with love and doesn't seemed to be able to get out of it! It cast her as an unstable character with no resolve. Wish she was a stronger character and not choose her love by emotion. Cannot understand why she even agree to marry Seung Hyun if she cannot sort out her feelings. Gun Hee's immature behaviors was another irritant in the movie. He doesn't seem to grow up and be a man! I like the character of Seung Hyun because he is the one who truly represents true love to the greatest degree -sacrifice & forgiveness. The ending did not do justice to the story that was developed so far. But maybe that was to produce an unexpected outcome for the audience!
