this what i call an artist
This guy has worked the HK music industry. I didn't even know what background, who or what this guy looked like until I went and bought his CD from the store. My first reaction was "Oh! Finally, not a newbie who has the looks but actually great potential!" Justin's CD blew me off and it is the best of the best! He has his own style and nothing beats it.

I'm Singing With Justin!!!
I'm Singing With Justin!!!
You may call me singing nut, if you like, because I simply love singing and hope to become a singer of some sort, either a background vocal singer for major popstars or becoming a Chinese pop singer, myself. There's nearly not a single day I don't go on singing my heart out. My favourite song tracks in this album: ALL. I love the overall design of the album, plus the lovely pictures of Justin Lo. I've been singing along with him especially to his English songs, plus "Good Person" (tracks 1 and 11), "Erica" and "Hard Life". I LOVE IT. Thanks Justin for pure good music. You're a bloody genius, mate! Please come to Sydney one day and hold a concert at the Sydney SuperDome or the Sydney Entertainment Centre. We, the Sydneysiders, shall welcome you with open arms and genuine warm smiles. Hope to see you soon, mate. And may you please, pretty please, sing until you cannot sing anymore! Thanks and may The Lord bless you, mate. Ta. Ciao! N.A.: By the way, my sister, has seen you skiing at Mt. Buller, Victoria, during the 2004 ski season (June to September). She was one of skiing hire and skiing clothing hire, etc. attendant. She told me that year Mt. Buller had the best snow in 10 odd or so years. Also, who says short guys like you and me (I'm exactly 153 cm (5'1") tall), doesn't have the potential to achieve things big in life, especially for overseas Chinese working in the hectic environment of Hong Kong?! Anyway, please take care, man, I hope see you soon. Joy Geen! Zai jian! Bye bye.

Just In Time For An Awards Bonanza
Just In Time For An Awards Bonanza
Justin Lo. I salute you. I believe everybody who's reading this particular review would've impatiently for these few months to see on what I will type in this review. So here it is. Justin Lo, I salute you for being such a damn good songwriter-singer of your generation! Now a bloody concert just after one year in business. This is an absolute miracle in Hong Kong entertainment circles. Only a very select few numbers of Hong Kong pop singers have achieved on what you've done in a bloody superdooper year for yourself. At the moment, I can't think of any names that come to mind that reached your kind of unbelievable (but now achievable) success. A record of at least 10 awards from four major Hong Kong radios and television networks. Absolutely out of this world. What's more unbelievable is of what you have garnered at RTHK's "The 28th Top Ten Gold Songs Awards". First Top Ten Singers Award, and the other being, your song - "A Good Person" (Ho Yun) has got a Top Ten Gold Song Award (a song in the top ten for a newcomer is absolutely spellbinding for both you and your adoring fans worldwide. By the way, my friend, "Apple" (her nickname) Lee has had a photo taken with you, either it was in Australia or Hong Kong, that's anyone's guess, because I didn't ask her where she'd taken this photo. She personally said to me, her dream is "marry" you. Maybe these are some Chinese girls' dreams. Dreams of marrying someone as musically talented as you). I love the songs - "A Good Person" and "Erica". The "Erica" MV (for Hong Kong TVB) was shot in the Australian snowfields near the N.S.W.-Victorian border (Mt. Buller, Mansfield, Victoria). That's trivia for you readers. I think it's time now for me to buy this album before it's all too late!!!!!! Congratulations to you, Justin Lo on such an outstanding year. Cheers to you, mate! It was a fair dinkum effort from you last year. Let's keep the good times rollin' for many years to come!

#1 New Male Artist!
#1 New Male Artist!
Justin is the best! For a newcomer, he deserves all the awards in 2005. He is a good singer and songwriter. My favorite songs on this CD is "Good Person" and "Erica." I think his concert ONE GOOD SHOW will be good.

Great debut, but not perfect
Great debut, but not perfect
Justin is without a doubt the most talented new male singer to come out of Hong Kong in the last 5 years or so. His voice has excellent range, and he really puts his heart into his songs - you can feel it. That's the main problem with Cantopop nowadays, almost no one sings with any real emotion. Virtually everybody else sings in the same repetitive way that it feels as though they just recorded the verse/chorus once and looped it a couple of times. Great singers like Eason & David Tao put extra emotion into their voice as the song progresses, and this is also precisely what separates Justin from the rest of the pack. While his singing is impeccable, I do feel Justin has room for improvement, namely to develop his own distinctive music/production style. As it is, his music is a bit lacking in variety and a tad too commercialized - it's basically "KTV-song w/ exceptional singing". If he can match the songwriting and production prowess of Eric Kwok in the future (just listen to E.K.'s excellent 'Collection' album - TRUST ME), then we'll see his perfect album. My verdict: 7.5/10. Recommended: Tracks 3, 4, 5, 7, 8.

Justin... year 20xx superstar??
it's the one and only time i bought a newcomer's album.. but when i finished listerning the entire album, i had no regrets. Justin is by far one of the better if not best male newcomer i seen so far. Be it his rich vocals or his music, it's well above average. most of the tracks are composed by Justin himself. IMO he has a bright future ahead of him. i would have gave this album full marks if not for the cover version of "Loving You" and "white X'mas" .
