I like it ! <3~
| Well .. Ill just be honest ... This isnt the best album .. The first blooming was amazing <3 Sunghee left .. And KARA lost an extremely brilliant member .. If you want a happy morning to wake up to .. This is the album .. And .. The 5th track.. Ing .. Is really really nice to listen to .. The 5th track is my recommendation .. It shows KARA's talent .. More than the other songs .. But over all .. The album is really beautiful to look at and listen to ^^ |

Better this Time!
| This album had so many pretty and high quality pictures. I was so happy DSP finally stepped up with the cash and we see it in the songs and the Pretty Girl music video! Hara and Jiyoung have improved especially in the song Ing (I Am), but what is more apparent is Nicole and Gyuri, both taking over the position which Sunghee used to hold and i think they are doing a great job :D The only thing is that, their albums tend to have Seungyeon singing most of the lines, it's not a bad thing but it's not letting Gyuri or Nicole showcase their singing abilities and those two can belt it out too. Overall, i really liked this album, it was such a departure from Rock U and Pretty Girl got the public really interested in KARA. This when the "2nd generation" of KARA really begins! |

Kara never fails to impress

In my opinion, this mini album captures the new Kara's true essence. Rock U was great, but because of all the similar-sounding tracks, I felt it was lacking. Kara completely makes up for that with Pretty Girl, though. This mini album is filled with a variety of unique tracks with differing genres. "Pretty Girl" is the title track. Aiming to make girls feel confident about themselves, "Pretty Girl" follows the same path as "U-Go-Girl" by Lee HyoRi. This song is very peppy and energetic. In a sense, it's like a song you would hear at a football game to cheer the team on. "Pretty Girl" is one of the most unique songs I've ever heard; nothing else sounds like it. "Honey" is the 2nd track Kara promoted. With it's catchy tune, it'll have you chirping "Honey, Honey, Honey" all day. In my opinion, this song really defines the new Kara, showing off the girls' angelic and pure image; a sharp contrast from their confident "Pretty Girl" image. So far this song has pushed Kara up to #1 a total of 3 times so far, making "Honey" Kara's first Number 1 hit. "Yodele" is the 3rd track on the mini album, composed by E-Tribe, the same group that made SNSD'S biggest hit "Gee." It's strong hip-hop beats make it a dance song with witty lyrics and an addictive "upgrade" of the classic "Yodel" call. This song is my favorite track on the mini album. The 4th track is "My Darling." This song fits in with Kara's 1st Mini album "Rock U" with it's unique happy, pop sound that has somewhat become Kara's trademark sound. "I Am" is the ballad of the mini album. This song really showcases the girls' singing abilities and displays how much they have improved vocally. "I Am" starts out slow and peaceful, then builds up to a powerful chorus that Kara sings SO passionately. It feels as if Kara is letting out all their emotions and expressing how they feel now that they're finally at the top. Overall, this mini album is really great. I would definitely give it a try. If not for the songs, buy it for the gorgeous 30-paged photobooklet of the girls! :) |

what happened...

I loved kara when sunghee was in the group but now that i realize it, she WAS the talent in the group. and when she left, they suffered a huge loss, to me anyway. The two new members lack talent because they weren't trained and joined from a contest. to me, theyre just pretty faces. As for the song, the english is just so embarassing. and they repeat it numorous times and their cutesy concept just looks like they got it from the trashcan that girls generation and wondergirls threw their bad ideas in. Repetitive song, just five pretty faces and no uniqueness whatsoever. |

improvement
| Rock U was total crap honestly. This album is definitely some major improvement. Overall I enjoyed this album a look, it's a lot better then Rock U. I still wished they would go release some songs like they did for their first album, but it's still good. I enjoyed the mini photobook in the mini album. |

KARA's True Comeback
KARA's True Comeback
|
“Pretty Girl” is a much better comeback than what their last mini-album “Rock U” contained. The title track “Pretty Girl” is a cute bubbly song and is along the same lines as their last release “Rock U”. The sugary electronic synth’s easily get the listener to feel like candy and youthful; a certain trend that KARA is inputting in their music since their 1st mini-album. If you’re already familiar with the “Pretty Girl” song don’t be deceived by the title track; there are some real gems on this album. The album opens up to “Honey”, a sweet electronic pop song that easily transitions into their hit song “Pretty Girl”. After the happy, uplifting, and commercial “Pretty Girl” ends, the album gains a whole new momentum as the 3rd song “Yeoreullei” takes over. Instead of another bubblegum, sweet and happy pop song, “Yeoreullei” is an R&B song sprinkled with a dash of pop. This is easily my favorite song on the album and was an un-expected surprise to my ears. “My Darling” is another R&B pop song then the album ends with “I…(Ing)” an R&B/pop ballad that is smooth, mellow, and easy going to the ears. The second half of the album reminded me of KARA’s sound with former member Sung Hee, while the first half of the album coincided with their new cute concept due to new members Hara and Jiyoung. The packaging of the album is not your ordinary jewel-cased CD. The CD is in a long rectangle shaped case made of cardboard material. The album booklet is attached to the case, but the pictures for the booklet are superb. The same bright and fun image that is seen on the cover of this album is also inside of the booklet; with pictures containing candy canes, smiles, and make-up portraying what their title song is all about: pretty girls. I recommend this album to casual listeners and fans alike. From a KARA fan that has been a fan of them since the beginning, a disappointed fan with the new members, and let down by their 1st mini-album “Rock U”, this album is way better than their former mini-album and will make the listener smile and nod their heads to the R&B, pop, and bubble-gum pop sounds that infiltrate their ears. |

Hmmmmmmmm.....Ok..well..

I've heard every song and saw the MV of "Pretty Girl", and i have to admit, they look very cute. But i kinda miss the strong vibrant Kara that used to be. The group is really smart to follow the popular style of music in Korea but i think they went a little ape-sh!t with the cute image they're trying to put on. but it has some good songs and "Pretty Girl" isn't that bad of a album. |
