Pop perfection... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This album is the embodiment of pop perfection. Gorgeous, lyrical, visceral, intense, literary. The arrangement is often so layered and complex it steps way beyond the usual pop boundaries. But at the same time like the best pop music, it is at once accessible and heart-breaking. Listen to the first track and you will get a taste of the mind-blowing rest that is to come. This is pop-art aesthetics of the highest caliber, from one of the most ambitious and talented Japanese artists. The more you listen to it, the deeper it will suck you into its beautiful abyss.

Shiina tops herself once again Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
From the blaring orchestra of Shuukyou to the chorus of Souretsu, I think this is her most complex, sonic work, and the effort is shown as you listen to every song. Maybe I'm just biased because it isn't as overrated and overlooked on its pop-influence as Shouso Strip. Up to her 8th track, Okonomide, the tracks just build up this momentum. Okonomide deflates it, but luckily picks it up at the end track. Her music's become more ecletic, and it's quite the challenge to count all the instruments in KZK, and there's always a new sound to be discovered each time you play it. ^^ Took me a while to get into; I wasn't a huge fan of Shiina so it took a listen of Shouso Strip to realize how 'different' she is and to be able to appreciate this album that I'm too lazy to type the name of. It has many different musical elements, and I'm glad to see she doesn't have to get freaky with another woman in a nurse's outfit for this album just so people will go on about how she's such a cool jrocker chick, she's so weird, blah blah blah.

Ëverybody's favorite"?...NOT MINE! Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
How on earth is this woman so popular? Yes, her voice is great, but this CD is awful. The first track has so much crackling noise you can't even play it through because it hurts your ears so badly. The next track is clear, but bad. The ONLY track that was tolerable was track #6. I read somewhere that will be her last solo album. All I can say is: thank God. Nothing about this CD except her voice is good. Nothing. I'm throwing it away. It's THAT horrible! Don't waste your money on this travesty.

It's a a bloody crime... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
...that practically no one in the states hasn't even heard of this CD. It's this beautiful ecclectic mix of music and sound, modern, pop and classic. Over and over I listen to it and it just gets better. It's a crime, it's a bloody crime.

Be still my heart Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This CD is so good. I'm in a state of awe and I have yet to listen to the whole thing.
Buy this CD. And when you listen to it, pay attention to every detail of what you hear. Ringo utilizes and manipulates so many different sounds and instruments with such skill that I have to admit that this is the best CD I've listened to in a long long time.

Definitely a must-buy item! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Shiina Ringo is a perfectionist.. Everything in this album, down to the very detail, has a sense of "Ringo-ness" in it.. From the symmetric song names, 44:44 total vocal time to the cute little CD jacket, the whole album is just an art that cannot be separated into individual songs. Every song is connected to the next one; there isn't even a 1 sec pause between any two. Yet each song has its distinct favor and results in a delicious "full dinner of music" with just about everything you can think of. The lyrics are well-written even if you don't understand Japanese; everything just rhythms into the most comfortable order. Addiction guaranteed.

I really don't know where to start.... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This album must be listened to with earphones on, and eyes closed. Otherwise you might miss something. Shiina Ringo has used every instrument I can think of in here from a Harpsichord to a fiddle played like an electric Guitar. She even uses silence effectively, stirred only by the sound of her lighting a cigarette. Flick, Burn, Draw, Exhale. On top of all her sound experimentation and variation, she has very memorable melodies. I find myself humming the songs over and over as I paint the walls of my workshop. The TV maybe on, but it's this album and her songs running through my mind. As has been said before, this album is an absolute must have.
