I enjoyed the Taiwan version as much as the HK version. There has been some slight instrument re-arrangement to the songs. Listening to the same song in HK version would not be the same in this version.
Its rather amusing to see Jacky speaking in Mandarin in the show as we got much used to the cantonese conversation in most of his concert DVDs. I felt that the taiwan audiences are more 熱情 throughout the concert. There are gifts and flowers for Jacky too. I dont remember seeing this in HK version though. Buy! Buy! January 15, 2009 a MUST BUY!As this concert was recorded in HK, the song rundown are mostly cantonese songs, with some mandarin songs and a mini mandarin musical play with songs from Snow Wolf Lake and Perhaps Love. For those who have watched Snow Wolf Lake, please dont expect a 'wow' from this mini musical. However Jacky really did a fantastic job in his performance. Bravo!
The audio and video recording quality in Disc 1-3 was awesome! The show was captured on HD cameras and its fantastic. There is no lyrics display option for Disc 1-3. The only thing that I dont really enjoy is how some part of the video editing was done. Some cut off scene have some distracting element and the cut off scene has some minor issues of audio sync. I notice some audience tried to sing along with Jacky, but the audience mouth is not sync with the part of the song. Anyhow, please dont let this small issue affect your buying decision. On disc 4, its the Karaoke disc where they have the lyris displayed and you have the option to choose karaoke or to listen to Jacky's singing. The video quality is a bit compressed compare to disc 1-3, since its fitting 3 hours of show into 1 karaoke disc. Anyhow, it's a GOOD BUY! Get yours today!Did you find this review helpful? August 14, 2006 my CD is WILD too
Eventualy, i had bought this album 3 TIMES! This album was really BORN TO BE WILD and it makes me WILD. The first copy got lost the second copy lent to a friend and it didnt come back, and now with me is my 3rd copy. I hope you'll safe keep this album before it run WILD on you.
Hey, why i went buying the same album again n again? This album is GREAT. Among the 10 songs in this album, track 2,4,5,6,8 are the popular ones found in KTV. If you wanna feel the HOT duet between Jacky and Faye Wong, try track #6. Other songs are also nice, but sadly they are not being commercially promoted. Enjoy..Did you find this review helpful? August 14, 2006 Not to be MISSED !!
I would say this is a great album. Randomly pick a song from this album, and i assure it wont bored you. You'll even fell in love with these songs. I've the earlier version which only consists of the first 11 tracks, but i went all the way to buy 'The Legends', all because of the song #15 (the full version of song #11). double thumbs up~!! January 20, 2006 Long Live Snow Wolf LakeThere are some differences between this Commemorate Edition and the previous two Snow Wolf Lake Mandarin albums. First the part for 'Pheonix' was sang by Nadia Chan, which creates a different kind of feeling/emotion from Kit Chan's version. Secondly, some songs are from different recording compared to the original studio recorded album. Next, some songs have some minor 'extended version' where they extended some part of the music for a few seconds and added some extra background music to the songs. Finally is the extra VCD which contains 3 live recording. 3 songs might be a bit little for us, but as least its an appetizer before the DVD is release. Hopefully. Did you find this review helpful? January 7, 2006 a MUST HAVE album~!I have the original 1987 version of this CD, and I treasure this album very much!. Why? It's an 'antique' to me, and most of the songs are the Mandarin version of Jacky's popular Cantonese classics from 1985-1987, such as 'Smile Again', 'Amour', 'Blue Rain', 'Half Moon Bay'. There are all together 15 hits in this wonderful album. The CD is hardly found in any music stores these few years. Thanks Universal for reissuing this album, and dont miss your chance to own it!
