The sounds of music

I love this guy's music. I like the way he uses the rythmns and sounds of the different styles of music and incorporates them into his korean songs. The results are amazing and beautifully done. Like me, you may not speak or understand the language, but who cares! When you listen to his music, it will become like a fossil sticking to your brain, and you will find yourself humming these tunes all day long. I have never heard korean songs done like this... the arrangements, the melodies... all done quite different from what I thought korean music was sung. Boy was I ignorant!!! I like all the songs on this CD, but my favorite has got to be "The words of love." He sings this song sooo... romantically with such feeling and depth that it makes it seem as if he was singing especially for you! He's got a great voice, really smooth, sensuous,very superb, one of the best Korea has to offer. He has opened an entire new world of music for me, and he will do the same for you. Get this CD, you will enjoy it for the rest of your life! I have all his songs on my MP3 and listening to it makes my daily walk very pleasureable. Aloha.... |

A Wonderful Ballad Singer.....
| Actually, I'm not sure if Kim Dong Ryul is a tenor or baritone. Perhaps Kevin Kennedy or other veteran fans can give you better assessment and elaborate more on Kim's voice if they care to do so. Don't let my previous comment scare you away from this CD. I forgot to mention that I have two other favorite tracks, 1 & 6 which are regular ballads with less of a hint of Kim's operatic training. My other 4 stars iTunes tracks include 8, 10, 19 & 20. Kim Dong Ryul does have a wonderful voice and sings with a lot of feeling and emotions. So, give him a try if you have not heard of him previously. |

Best at Baritone Voice?.......

Life is kind of strange sometimes. I bought this CD package five months ago and only managed to listen up to 10 songs. I almost forgot about it until recently. There are just too many songs and too little time. I resumed several days ago when this CD list appeared right before my eyes by accident. Lucky for me, Kim Dong Ryul's voice started to attract my attention when I got to track 16. It was a surprise! He reminds me of Andrea Bocelli with his wonderful and operatic trained voice which is confirmed by reading another review of him by a fan. I think that he is at his best and most attractive when he is singing mid range and not forcing his voice occasionally with higher pitches. His voice is masculine, soothing, magnetic and filled with unpretentious emotions at times. I'm so happy to have discovered him. My favorite tracks are 16, 17, 18 & 24. So, give him a try if you have never heard of him before. |
