Kim Yoon-ah "Glass Mask"- Music with Class Kim Yoon-ah, the vocal of the Korean rock band Jaurim, waves farewell to hardcore rock and welcomes you to her artistic world on her second solo album "Glass Mask". Let's step into her classical domain filled with aestheticism. The first track starts the album with mystery by telling the story of a lost spirit. With its triple-time tempo and the special effect imitating the noise of a gramophone needle rubbing a phonograph record, this track does not simply want you to listen but also think. Borrowing the arrangement from "Nuevo Tange" written by the contemporary composer Astor Piazzolla, Track 2 touches the bottom of your heart with its classicism delivered by the harmony of cello and contrabass. Impromptu as it may seem, track 3 still excites you with the passionate vocal and soothes you with the engaging soft chant. "Nocturne" (Track 4) carries on the classic music journey with its splendid melody. What follows is a waltz dance invitation on Track 5. The touching spirit goes on to "Melancholia" (Track 7) while a section of piccolo in the middle of the track intensifies the plaintive sadness. With the clear and melodious piano in the background, Kim Yoon-ah shows off her vocal skill on Track 9 delivering a sense of simplicity. For some, Yoon ah kim's music can be an acquired taste. However, boy can she sing. The woman can use her voice like a masterful instrument. She is that good a singer. I would say Lara Fabian has more a beautiful voice than Yoon ah. But then, they have disctinct personality in their voices. I think Yoon ah is amazing still. I love her repertoire with Jaurim. The songs on this CD are a bit depressing overall. Still, it's a good album; technically excellent. I cannot fault the musicianship nor the production value of the CD. Overall, a very good CD. Mind you, the songs are quieter and slow in color, so be aware. |

this album title is 'azure mask'. i love these songs 01. unhappiness encroaches a soul 04. nocturne 10. hatred is my energy 11. girl talk her music is very gloomy, sad, and lyrical. i think, kim Yoon-a is really troubadour. very good. |

| Great CD, Kim Yuna really sets the standard for all musics. Her musical range has no limit. This Cd has a little of every thing really touches the soul. |
