Very funny and the the guy's mothers use of Engrish made me laugh out load a good few times.

June 8, 2007 interestingFirst I'd like to address the Rain fans that are saying it's bad because it not the "right" role for Rain.
He can star in what ever he wants, get over it!
The story revolves around a young girl and the fact she thinks she's a killer cyborg.
She's sent to a mental hospital and there she meets a young man that believes he has the power to steal souls, emotions etc from people. A strange and awkward love blooms.
It's in no way a romantic drama in fact saying exactly what this film is, is near impossable to do.
If anything it feels like a little window looking into the mind of people with mental disorders.
But it is an interesting film and I found myself glued to it wondering what the next scene will bring.
Rain acts wonderfully and it shows he can act...I hope to see more from him in the future.

April 30, 2007 Beautiful!For a start this boxset is worth every penny! It's stunning.
The movie itself is another beautiful film from Zhang Yimou. His films seem mainly based on stunning visuals followed by breath taking fight scenes then plot.
The plot of this film is quite thin, like his other films, but it's also very different to anything he's done before as the main focus is on drama not action.
The lament of Empress Phoenix, trapped in a world of a royal court were things must be done in such away that it leaves her very life in danger is compelling to watch.

The plot is quite thin but the action scenes are great fun and done very well.
Sakaguchi Tak is again a wonderful actor to watch.
It really reminded me of 80's fantasy movies like Conan, which are wafer thin for plot but fun and silly to watch.

April 21, 2007 Touching!From the out set you instantly fall in love with Sang Eun, her innocence and sunny nature is a delight to watch and expertly acted by Gang Hye Jung.
You can see just how easy it is for Jeong Bom to fall for her.
The movie is full of laughs, tears, love and heartbreak and you feel each one of those feelings along with Sang Eun.
The end result is a feeling of warmth and the moral is that no matter how dark it gets the sun always rises.

February 12, 2007 Unusual ThrillerPlease don't read the person's below review as they have given away the ending. Please be careful when writing reviews as this is very annoying for people who have not seen the movie!
This film is unusual in the fact that it's unlike most Korean horrors to be released recently.
It is more a "whose done it" slasher movie.
You are left guessing up until the very end but that's when the movie fell apart for me..too many things left un-answered too many plot holes. Shame ><

The story is very sweet to start with and at first I did find myself not minding knowing the ending but as the film progressed I found that the movie dragged and was, at times, a little boring. All the cliched scenes started to come in and I lost intrest. By the end of the film I felt no emotion or compassion for the stars.

The story revolves around a young girl and her almost creepily over protective mother. The scares are in the right places and the ending promises to be quite a show...unfortunately it falls very short of being anything but confusing and a little annoying. Just when it seems to be going one way it u-turns and goes the other without any explanation as to why, leaving the viewer feeling empty and a little like they wasted their time.

January 14, 2007 A slow dramaI find it so hard to believe that people are so narrow minded as to rate this film on the love scene just because it has a certain actor in it or call a movie bad just because it's slow paced...go buy some action movies or porn!
April Snow is not a great movie but it is a touching movie. It makes you think how you would deal with this situation, the person you love may die but they have also betrayed you.
The growing closeness of In Su & Seo-Young is understandable and not as another review said "revenge" and is quite interesting to watch. But over all the lacking ending leaves the film feeling flat. Great movie to watch once.

January 1, 2007 Ignore Above ReviewA slow moving thriller/horror. If you like your American Slasher movies as above seems to this film will bore you..however if you like something that gets you thinking, is a little creepy and love the Korean type of ghost (long haired woman) you will enjoy this film.

June 1, 2006 Good but nothing newThis movie is very sweet and you do feel a lot of warmth towards both of the main characters. And although the jokes and heartache are all there and Hyun Bin acts his part brilliantly the film just falls short.
The plot is much to predictable right up until the end....such a shame as it feels all too familar to be taken as a true movie gem.

The box itself is wonderful decorated with pictures of hide and the spines of all the CDs/DVD make up a Pink Spider pose photo.
The added extra of the Museum DVD was what swayed the decision for me to get the box set as it seemed all the more precious now the museum has closed.
If you are a hide fanatic you'll love this!

April 16, 2006 Touching, Fun, Fantasy FrolicThe LE box set for this film is just beautiful and worth every penny.
The film itself is a fun 2 hours as long as you are not expecting something as grand as Hero.
The story revolves around a beautiful young woman who as a young girl agreed to keep a promise to a goddess. This promise will insure her life is rich and she'll never want for anything apart from love. When two men strive for her love things soon become complicated.
With superb and beautiful fight scenes. The roles are acted wonderful and none more so than Nicholas Tse in a rare role as a bad guy, he really is a pleasure to watch.
The only real complaint I have is the special effects but as long as you can stomach the over used CGI the story really does shine.

The film focuses more on Su Hyon and her battle with cancer. Throughout the film her Mellon collie air lends the film a subdued feeling. At times watching the young girl cope with the agonising pain caused by her disease is heartbreaking. The slow change of her persona could be blamed on her illness as well as the wig so it is intresting to watch but it never really goes anywhere.
Although Chae Min Seo acts brilliantly the films plot just does not hold attention as it should.
By the end of the film you are left feeling confused and a little like your time has been wasted. The plot tries to have twists but they are never fully explained and this just leaves the story lacking.
The relationship between Chi Hyon and her boyfriend is never explored in detail, and this makes the ending flat.
A good idea badly executed.

February 6, 2006 Outside the realms of normal RomanceIf you are expecting another My Sassy Girl, Please Teach Me English or My Little Bride stay well clear of this film.
This movie is not so much a Romantic comedy as a Drama.
Watching the two main characters relationship develop is at times uncomfortable. The way Lee Yu Rim goes about wooing Choi Hong would be seen as sexual harassment in the west.
There are sweet moments at times you can relate to both Lee & Choi and the storyline keeps all its cards close to its chest so the end result is surprising. But in the end it's not enough to replace the feeling that no matter what Lee does he can never be more than a sex obsessed bully.
