WaT's Koike Teppei and
Nodame Cantabile's Tamaki Hiroshi star in the anticipated new film
Kids. The film is director Hagishima Tatsuya's second go at adapting Otsuichi's best-selling light novel series
Kimi ni Shika Kikoenai. Hagishima previously adapted the main titular story with Narumi Riko and Koide Keisuke as leads, and now he's bringing the novel's second story,
Kids, to the big screen as well. Koike Teppei stars as Asato, a sensitive young man with the ability to transfer other people's wounds to his own body. His strange healing powers lead to friendship with the troubled Takeo (Tamaki Hiroshi). Other than the fan service pairing of Koike and Tamaki, the film also co-stars actress Kuriyama Chiaki (
Kill Bill).
Kids opens in Japan in February 2008, but viewers can get an early peek at the film and Koike's performance with Koike Teppei No Sugao - Movie "KIDS" Taking Diary. This making of DVD follows Koike during his 35 days of shooting, recording his growth as an actor and his many adorable faces. The DVD includes making of footage, interview, Koike's self-camera footage, and more.
