Pretty good

I was quite anticipating this single a lot as I had pre-ordered it one month prior to the release. When I finally listened to the full version of 'Kokoro Biidama', I was quite pleased with how it turned out. 'M' was a good song too, and seeing as I haven't heard the original PRIPRI version, I judged it as purely a RYTHEM track and it suited their style quite well. One of the initial feelings about 'Negai ~asayake version~' was that it seemed like a rushed addition to the single. After listening to it more I felt that it does grow on you as RYTHEM's classic melody/harmony duets take place throughout the short piece without the need of words to express the emotions of the piece. The instrumental track was again well arranged by masterful CHOKKAKU, but was slightly less than I had expected, coming from listening to the 'Houki Gumo', '20 Tsubu no Kokoro' and 'Dear Friend' instrumentals, but great nonetheless. I recommend this single for any RYTHEM fan at all and also for those who watch the Yakitate!! Japan anime from which this single is the 6th and final ending theme of. I also reflect the previous reviewer's hopes for a second album release in the near future, and judging from RYTHEM's unreleased material from their weekly 'Enjoy Your Time!' radio bits, there's plenty of musical delights to come! Looking forward to the 'Negai' single release in April. I give this single 8/10. |

Good, but....
| Even though I really love RYTHEM, and Kokoro Biidama is a great song, I felt that the single itself was a bit of a rip-off. "M" is an okay cover of PRINCESS PRINCESS's original, and Negai is only a minute and a half long! So the only real new song is Kokoro Biidama. I hope RYTHEM releases their second album soon, because I am dying for some more new material. If you're a big RYTHEM fan, you probably bought this, but for the rest of you who read this I would say, wait for the album instead. |
