グループとしての活躍もさることながら、各々がそれぞれ超一流のエンターテイナーとして各方面で活躍しているスーパーグループ・SMAP。本作はレコード・デビュー記念1周年の企画として製作されたオリジナル長編ドラマで、1992年9月にリリースされたもの。広大な北海道を舞台に主演のSMAPが伸び伸びとした演技を見せている。最強のアイドル・グループとなった今からは想像もつかない程、若く、初々しいメンバーたちは必見。「心の鏡」「真夜中のMERRY-GO-ROUND」「BEST FRIEND」といった曲が挿入歌として使用されているのも見所だ。
