윷놀이는 편을 갈라 윷으로 승부를 겨루는 놀이입니다.
삼국시대 이전부터 전해오는 한국 고유의 민속놀이로 대개 정월 초하루부터 보름날까지 즐깁니다. 부여족(夫餘族) 시대에 5가지 가축을 5 부락에 나누어주어 그 가축들을 경쟁적으로 번식시킬 목적에서 비롯된 놀이라고 하며, 그에 연유하여 '도'는 돼지, '개'는 개, '걸'은 양, '윷'은 소, '모'는 말에 비유합니다.
