Beautiful despair.
|
Almost theatrical in its intensity, this album is nothing short of a journey of despair and self-destruction. A variation of musical and singing styles paint each track a different sentiment all under the same umbrella of pain; Isho, Gentou Sanka, Dankukuu and Akatsuki Yami the best examples of this. The tracks flow well together to paint this picture, yet it is tracks like Kanashimi no Hate, Oboreru Sakana and Namonamuki Yume that musically stick out as odd and ill placed on this album. It is the closing track, Kuchiki no Tou, that is the albums saving grace; drawn out and epic unlike anything Mucc has ever done. If you can ignore the 3 inferior tracks, then this could be the very best Mucc has released. |

MUCC's
| versatility is wonderful. Unlike most J-Rock bands, they play music for enjoyment and it shows. They are a beautifully put together band that deserves much fame in the music industry. |

great CD
| This is definatley one of Mucc's best albums. Their sound has matured so much since their infancy. Although some of the tracks on this CD don't quite hit the mark, the ones that do are great songs. Track 14 and 15 would be a couple of the amazing songs. |

A nice addition to any j-rocker's collection
| MUCC on this album is basically dark j-rock with occasional screaming and the more operatic style vocals popular in j-rock today. This may at first listen sound like some of the 'nu-metal' popular in the US, but I believe it's very different actually. It's certainly an acquired taste. Give it one or two listens and it will really grow on you. I find myself constantly going back to songs like 'Gentou Sanka' and 'Rojiura Boko to Kimi'. If you like groups such as Kagerou, Nightmare or even Dir en grey, check these guys out. |
