Actors from the blockbuster Kung Fu Hustle gather again to make the TV series Kung Fu Beggar, which is a remake of the famous Stephen Chow movie King of Beggars. Though absent from the screen, Chow still serves as the artistic consultant to this hilarious TV drama. The male lead of Kung Fu Beggar is new actor Pu Yedong, who made a cameo as the "Golden Right-foot" in Stephen Chow's Shaolin Soccer. Written by Chow's long-time collaborator Tin Kai Man, Kung Fu Beggar is expected to be just as amusing as any other Stephen Chow movies.

Stephen Chow himself picked Pu Yedong for Beggar Su, a role that Chow played in King of Beggars years ago. Eva Huang from Kung Fu Hustle plays Beggar Su's girlfriend. Chan Kwok Kun, famous for imitating Bruce Lee in Stephen Chow movies, turns himself into a villain. Yuen Qiu from Kung Fu Hustle stars as a martial arts master while Ng Man Tat plays Beggar Su's father.
