Kung Fu Master Is My Grandma! DVD Region All

In the long history of Hong Kong cinema, there have been numerous films featuring the character Wong Fei Hung, but none quite like this! From Bowie Lau Bo Yin, co-director of Haunted Office comes the humorously titled Kung Fu Master is My Grandma, a poignant coming-of-age film that offers plenty of drama, romance, and comedy, as well as just a little kung fu! The story centers a rebellious seventeen year old named Gucci (Isabel Chan Yat Ling, from 2004's Butterfly), who finds herself stuck in a women's correctional facility after a fight in a bar. Upon her release, Gucci is shocked to learn that not only has her single mother been tragically killed in a car accident, but her grandmother (Helena Luo Lan) has been made her legal guardian!

These two very different women butt heads at first, but slowly, Gucci and her grandmother are able to cross the generational divide. Things start to pick up when Gucci's grandmother saves her from a bunch of street punks by unleashing her masterful Tai Chi skills! Gucci soon learns that her grandmother's real name is Wong Fei Hung, named after the legendary folk hero portrayed most famously by Jet Li in the Once Upon a Time in China series! Even stranger, she serves as sifu to a group of elderly students, many of whom resemble characters from the real Wong Fei Hung's life: Bucktooth So, Porky, and Ah Foon! But as Grandma Wong passes down valuable life lessons to Gucci, and the two become fast friends, a crucial choice looms on the horizon. Will Gucci make the right decision?
