月刊「Gファンタジー」に連載された枢やな原作の人気漫画「黒執事」をアニメ化。2008年10月からMBS、TBSほかで放送され話題となった。主人公は、実はその正体は悪魔である執事のセバスチャン。裏社会に関わるファントムハイヴ家の当主であるわがままな12歳の主人・シエルに仕え、どんな執務も完璧にこなす。そんな主従を中心に、19世紀後半、ヴィクトリア朝時代の英国風の世界で繰り広げられる、アクションあり、ギャグありの上質なアニメ作品である。監督は映画版「犬夜叉」シリーズや「アンパンマン」シリーズなどを手がける篠原俊哉が担当。個性的なキャラクターたちの声を小野大輔、坂本真綾、東地宏樹ほか人気声優が演じている。

ファントムハイヴ邸は焼け落ちてしまい、焼け跡で一人日記を綴るタナカ。一方、客船の貨物室に隠れるシエルは、葬儀屋から、ロンドンで多くの魂の回収が必要だと告げられる。その時、人々の叫び声が聞こえ、シエルがデッキに出てみると…。
