A TV fantasy drama made more than two decades ago can be just as entertaining in the 21st century. Ladies of the House stars veteran actors Louise Lee Shut Kei, Michael Miu Kiu Wai, Petrina Fung Bo Bo, and Yang Chun who were still on the rise in the early 80s.
Two wicked brothres (Yang Chun and Michael Miu) hijack a hot-air balloon for a balloon flying contest, but they accidentally land on an anarchic town. The most prosperous attraction there is a brothel whose owner (Louise Lee) is an expert in hypnosis, mind-reading, and fortune-telling. She learns through her supernatural expertise that the two unidentifiable brothers will help her tide through her crisis, and she thus allows them to stay in her place. One day a gorgeous girl (Petrina Fung) arrives the brothel, bringing more complications...

大小不良精靈滑頭，在妓院大受歡迎，更惹得眾妓為他們爭風吃醋，奴為此大傷腦筋。與此同時，妓院又來了一個記憶全失的絕色少女 ~ 野孩子﹝馮寶寶﹞，官府亦加緊追查異物及大小不良的行蹤，一切風月奇情怪事亦隨之而生……
註：由於母帶已製作經年，故在製作VCD的過程中，必須進行調色、重新配樂及剪輯等後期工作。但所有後期工作均在有必要的情況下進行，並以不影響劇情為原則。

just love the 80's atmosphere!

I've watched lotsa TVB 80's series, but I was having so much trouble finding ''Ladies Of the House''on tape, which i wanted to see for a long time... I'm glad it's finally released.. I would've preferred the tape format though, cuz, there isn't so much editing.. The plot, though somewhat silly, still manages to be charming, with all the great actors, plus, I just love the early 80's atmosphere... Yeung Kwun in a rare comedy role, pulls it off easily, as he's always been a skilled actor w/ screen presence.. Miu Kiu Wai does well, for his early role.. Lee Si Kei plays the saucy, wise cracking owner of the house, also, a rare role for her.. She keeps most of my attention.. Fung Bo Bo is soooo... adorable, as usual, as the woman who has amnesia, rescued by the people in the house. Any fans of Fung Bo Bo should watch this series, as this is one of the few tvb series, she has appeared in.. Just watching her act, is worth it.. Costumes and set decoration are also nice to look at... |

A very bold drama that only Mr Kam could handled it with taste. Great acting from the wonderful cast like Ms Fung and Ms Lee and special mention to Ms Sandra Leung whose comic timing is just simply wonderful! |
