Question Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I hear this series is so great considering the main focus is Vicki and Alec. YES they make a perfect couple! And I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to see this movie because I've seen like clips of this series like in fan-made videos about Vicki and Alec. And I must say it's very tempting for me. I know it's 2006 and all but I've seen them two in HZGG 1 and 2 and they are so great! Anyways back to my question does anyone know if this movie has english subtitles or has Vietnamese voice over? If they really don't, dang it, just my luck! So yea can someone tell me? Oh and if they do have this movie in Vietnamese (like with voice over) what is this title in vietnamese? That's all thx anyone who can tell me this.

Enjoyable Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I've previously heard quite a lot critiques about this i.e. not a big production, hence no pretty costumes, no pretty sets etc. True, the clothes are simple but it reflects well on the plot i.e. the characters are supposed to be relatively poor or unemployed. They can't be prancing in extravagant clothes, can they?
Overall, I'd enjoyed the simplicity of this where most of the setting takes place within 2 buildings, opposite each other. It reminds me of those old 'staged' sitcoms. The characters' entrance and role reminds me of that old techniques as well. It produced a tight focus on each character, wherein each has a role to play at that specific scene. I also like how it's mostly from 'JiXiang's (Vicki's present character) perspective in terms of her relationship with 'XiaoPeng' (Alec's present character). The audience has to guess what he really thinks/feels about her, so in some ways, it's up to Alec to potray that in his acting/expressions. It puts a bit of suspense too but not as much as to the story of 'LiMei' and 'SuSan' (Vicki and Alec's past characters respectively). Theirs was a lovelier, more romantic and more tragic story which I felt could have been developed more.
Somewhere towards the middle, it got a bit draggy though... especially when it kept focusing on the married couple's ('SanXian' & 'AhQing') bickering. I felt the ending was also a bit abrupt. It was a quick anti-climax which left me wanting for more. Other than that, everyone did an excellent job, combining talents from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. It also showcased Vicki's piano-playing skills and had a scene where Alec and Vicki sang a duet.
It's definitely a "must-see" for all AV fans although you'll probably fastforward some scenes if you're just interested in seeing AV. But if you don't mind the other characters, it's actually quite a rare gem.

excllent but sad Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is a must see! Vicki did an excellent portary of two people, one in the past and one in the present. Alec portary of his two charaters was excllent too. Just a recommendation to the writters of this story you should have more on the past maybe a longer storyline and we could see Vicki and Alec in the past and let the story progress.

worth seeing Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I love Vicki and Alec so it is a "must see" for me. I feel all the other actors/actresses are good too. I give them all "A"
The story line is interesting enough and cute and makes me smile sometimes but not the best so I give it a "B".
The quality of the VCD is not the best. My first couple of discs are slightly fuzzy and the subtitles are too small but the worst is the timing of the dialogue is off. When I finish listening to the speech an actor makes , his mouth is still moving so it gives you an odd feeling. So, I give the quality of this show a "C"
Overall, I still recommend this show .

Very interesting story Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I held off on purchasing this one based on it's reviews. But I agree with the people who mentioned that it has an interesting story. I have seen a lot of chinese TV series, and I have to say that they like to use the same formulas over & over again. It was refreshing to see something like this that seemed to be more interesting & somewhat different. Even though it doesn't look like it has high production costs, I think that is series is much better than a lot of the other ones that had a big budget.
