Adapted from the acclaimed comic by Yazawa Ai, director Nikai Ken recruited L'Arc~en~Ciel lead singer HYDE, Kill Bill's Kuriyama Chiaki, and newcomer Narimiya Hiroki to star in this strange love story.

Every 19 years, during "Kagen no Tsuki", or Last Quarter of the Moon, a miracle is set to happen and a romance is set to brew. Muzuki (Kuriyama) breaks up with her boyfriend Tomoki on her 19th birthday. Feeling lonely and having nowhere to go, she suddenly hears a familiar guitar melody. She follows the sound to an old house, where she meets Adam. They fall in love and vow to meet a week later. However, on the night of the last quarter of the moon, Muzuki is run over by a car. She awakes to find herself in the old house, but she cannot leave it. She is still alive, lying in a coma, but existing as a ghost in the house...

Director Nikai Ken is known for his work directing music videos, having previously worked with HYDE, pierrot, and The Gospellers; his previous film soundtrack won Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography at the 12th Spain International Fantastic Film Festival. HYDE not only recorded the theme song for the film, THE CAPE OF STORMS, he also takes on the role as mysterious musician Adam in the film. Kuriyama, famed internationally for taking on domineering roles, plays an ordinary girl for the first time in her career.

中美月(栗山千明)於19歲的生日與男友知己(成宮寬貴)分手，在心灰意冷､無處可去之時，她聽到一段似曾相識的結他旋律。美月追隨音樂來到一所老房子，在此遇上了一名為Adam(HYDE)的男子。他們隨即相愛，並決定在一個星期後匯合；然而，美月在「下弦之月」的晚上，被車撞倒，最終當她再次清醒之時，她被困於老房子內。

On the night of her 19th birthday, Mizuki (Chiaki Kuriyama) break up with her boyfriend Tomoki (Hiroki Narimiya). Utterly dejected, she flees into the night and stumbles upon a dilapidated estate bathed in the ethereal glow of the moon in its last quarter. Drifting on the still air is a strangely familiar melody being played on a guitar, emanating from somewhere inside the mansion. She follows the music inside to a darkened room and mysterious young man named Adam (HYDE). He claims to have written the song especially for her even though she has never met him before. Feeling an inexplicably strong bond to third charismatic stranger, Mizuki returns home and collects her belongings in order to begin a new life with him but is involved in an accident. Suddenly she finds herself back at the gates of the mansion, unable to leave its precincts, and with no memory of what has happened or who she is.
