The classic wuxia novel The Water Margin (AKA: The Outlaws of the Marsh) gets the tongue-in-cheek treatment with the all-star 1993 parody Laughters of Water Margins. Classic Hong Kong singer/screen star Sam Hui stars, along with brother Ricky Hui, comediennes Lydia Shum and Teresa Mo, and wacky Stephen Chows sidekick Richard Ng Man Tat. The hijinks kick off when Po Chun reunites with his long lost brother Mo, who's married to the sassy Lotus. The trio plots a wild scheme to seduce and blackmail Mr. Simon, a local bigwig, but as you'd expect in these wacky costume farces, the players are more adept than tripping over themselves than getting any sort of elaborate deceptions done! Filled with dizzy musical numbers and plenty of feel-good comedy charm, Laughters of Water Margins is classically low-brow, gut-busting stuff from director Clifton Ko.

武松與大郎兄弟重逢，郎覺松會阻其發達，遂叫蓮用計將松趕走，蓮施盡渾身解數，松仍不肯走，最後蓮企圖色誘以嚇走松，怎料松酒後亂性，險將就地正法，幸郎及時出現將松趕走。
郎終於找到獵物西門慶，慶是一自以為英俊風流，專賣迷幻藥的藥行少東，郎為勒索得更大款項，不惜扮死怎料松突然出現，險些弄糟全盤計劃
蓮迫於無奈對松言明一切，並囑松威脅慶往獅子樓“講數”，松不覺間飲多兩杯，幾乎將騙局向西門慶和盤托出，大郎金蓮喬裝出現解圍，終索得鉅款與武松逃之夭夭。

Not that funny.

Most of this movie is not funny, even though it had a very strong cast and directed by the famous Go Chi Sum. The actors did their usual best but the dialogue and gags simply did not sparkle. Too bad. Don't waste your money. I have not watched the movie again. |

Marginally Successful Movie
| A silly adaptation of a classic Chinese novel. This movie does not contain enough laughs and jokes to make it a hit. |
