In his element once more, he not only held a successful solo concert in Japan recently, he also established his own company, M Rising Entertainment. As for his new album, he has spared no efforts and got directly involved in the songwriting work for 9 of the 12 featured tracks. To realize his latest ambitious work, he collaborated with such talented musicians as Drunken Tiger's Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae, and Epik High's Tablo. This time's principal song is Stomp, which highlights his unique urban hip hop style. Fans can look forward to a special album blending urban hip-hop, R&B, and mainstream pop sounds. All listeners should be in for a musical joyride when they reach out to Explore M.

신화의 이민우 가 1년 5개월여 만에 정규 3집 앨범 explore M으로 돌아왔다. 그 동안 수 차례 단독 콘서트를 비롯해서 최근 일본 콘서트 투어를 성공리에 마친 이민우 는 올해 음악 전문 프로덕션 엠라이징 엔터테인먼트(MRISING ENTERTAINMENT)를 설립하는 등 본격적으로 프로듀서와 엔터테이너의 길을 함께 걷는 아티스트로 자리매김 하고 있다.
지난 정규 앨범(2집)에서 이미 프로듀서로서의 가능성과 폭발적인 콘서트 퍼포먼스 및 라이브 실력 또한 인정받았던 M의 3집 정규앨범에는 Urban Hip Hop, R&B, Soul을 비롯한미국 Main Stream Pop의 주류인 팀바랜드 계열까지 넘나드는 화려한 수록곡이 돋보이는 앨범으로 총 수록 곡 12트랙 중 9곡을 이민우 가 직접 작사 작곡 편곡에 참여하여 프로듀서 M의 음악성을 가늠할 수 있는 Master Piece 앨범이라 할 수 있다.
이번 M 정규 3집을 준비하는 동안 국내의 많은 프로듀서와 작품자 그리고 힙합 음악인들과 꾸준한 음악 교류를 가져왔던 이민우 는 이번 앨범을 통해 국내 최고의Urban Hip Hop & Soul의 실력자, 드렁큰 타이거의 타이거JK를 비롯해윤미래, 에픽하이의 타블로 등 국내의힙합 아티스트들과 함께 음악적 완성도를 높이기 위한 Co-Production에도 많은 시간을 투자했다. 타이거 Jk, 윤미래, 타블로, 신화의 에릭이 Featuring한 각 수록곡들 또한 그 완성도에서 높이 평가되고 있으며, 전작 2집의 보여주는 음악 위주에서 듣는 음악으로의 작품성 또한 인정 받을 만한 트랙들이다.
이번 M 3집 앨범의 타이틀곡인 'Stomp'는 전작 2집의 타이틀곡 Bump의 진화(progressive) 버전으로 올해 초 편곡의 완성을 위해서 이민우 가 직접 미국으로 건너가 현지의 샘플링 전문 회사에서 모든 악기의 음원 소스(source)를 공급받아 완성한 곡으로 국내에서는 사용된 적이 없는 음원(sampler)과 리듬소스가 M의 마스터피스 앨범의 타이틀곡으로서 기존의 Urban Hiphop에서는 들어본 적이 없는 수려한 사운드가 인상적인 곡이다.

I bought this album and received it about a month ago and now i am writing a review I read many comments and thoughts on this saying that the 2nd album was better but after having listened to them both many times i must say i like this one more =) wells many more of the songs on M Explore are more catchy and dance/RnB oriented but i really do think Minwoo did a good job this time around. The second album i didn't like a few songs but with every song in this i really do LOVE =) so buy this and don't miss out. and now its so cheap!! |

| Personally I love this album very much and like every single song. M is truly an all rounded artiste. Great packaging. A must buy if you are an M fan and a great buy if you want some great music. |

I've been following Lee Min Woo for a while and I think all his music is great, but comparing this album to the previous one, I prefer the old one: Girlfriend. This album has a few nice tunes, but I didn't love every single song like I did for his previous album. But this is still a must have for M fans! ^_^ |

Sorry for the late review ^^;; For u who still not buy this album yet, U MUST BUY IT! 4 thumbs up for all cool songs, like 'The M Style' 'Play My Song' which have catchy rythm that will make u dancing all nite long ~ or 'L.O.V.E' , 'My Child (98/03/24)' which have sentimental lyrics that will touch ur heart ~ just one suggestion: MUST BUY IT !! ^^ |

Perhaps his best so far. Lee Min Woo is not only composer, writer, and singer of his own masterpiece, but also producer, enabling him to stretch his ability to a new level as every song seems to be an artistic result of his signature talent. Lee combines his soft vocals with strong, crunching beats (Stomp, Showdown), to R&B that is pleasing to the ears, and a hip style that showcases a similar style to that of club funk, and hints inspiration from other music genres such as the light and romantic Spanish-inspired song, La Noche Bonita, proving his ability to create music that is worth giving a shot, even if you aren't a 'M' fan. |
