Would have been 10..
| This would have been a perfect 10 if no cuts was taken placed. I hate the fact where they cut scenes out and then placed extra sound tracks in. The original sound track was fine, the original music was placed through out the series perfectly. It did not need any new music, especially techno music. I just hope a unedited DVD version releases soon. If there is a petition for one then hey sign me up. |

Review
| I think it is a great movie, I did not watch it on VCD, i watched it on tape so I dont know if there is any change to the movie or if any scene got deleted. If it were, I feel sorry that tvb did that. THey should not!!! They should just leave the full version and not cut it |

best of the best is not here
| !!!!! The people who say that this version is better than the 1994 version have not watched it properly. The graphics in this version even on DVD is so poor and blurry. Wong acted a silly character suited him, but not silly in that way. Wong was no more than a rolling wooden stick. |

Best adaption of the novel...not!!!
| To say that this is the best adaptation is almost a sacrilege as I can almost recite every chapter of the novel. Why oh why did the screen writers change the story line is beyond me. I always say that if any body can write better than Gin Yung then s/he wouldn't be making a living writing TV screen plays. I still remember how angry I was when I watched this when I'm young, plus the female lead pales in comparison to what is portrayed in the novel. The '94 Athena Chu version is much much better w/ less alteration; I won't waste time on this version. |

Nothing Special
Nothing Special
| First, I love this series! But what does this "Special Edition" has that the previous editions don't have?! I bought a previous VCD edition for around $115, and it includes most of the things on this "Special Edition", behind scenes, etc., except for the new packaging and the little toys, which to me are worthless. My point is, if TVB doesn't digitally remaster the audio video (say put it in a nicer formate like DVD), or give us uncut versions, or something truly special, then don't expect to fool us consumers into paying an extra $100 for something that adds almost no value to the older versions. |

DVD, English Sub and NO CUT SCENES
|
Why oh why did they omit some scenes? Why oh why are there still vcds? Why oh why is there no English subtitle. This is one of the greatest TVB classics ever, but the effort they expend on this product greatly disappoints me. I really really want to purchase a collector's edition of this series on DVD, with English subtitles, NO CUT SCENES and maybe even extras like high quality still shots and screen savers, etc. Well, anyway, I'm still happy to own this product. Better than nothing. Guess I should count my blessings. It's very good quality for VCDs. The packaging is nice. |

Ang Mo Fans of Wu Xia
|
Along with thousands of other Ang Mo's I am a great fan of Wu Xia series. I have return of the Condor Heroes and Heavenly Sword with English sub and have watched legend of the Condor Heroes in Mandarin. This has to be the all time greatest series. Why, why, why do they not release legend of the Condor Heroes with English subs. I keep having to ask my wife and nieces to translate as we watch and this drives them mad. Please lets see some English subs. |

DVD and English Subtitles Please!
|
This really is the best series ever! I saw it a few times when I was young. Now I'm longing to watch it again. I saw the mainland China version. It was ok, but it pales in comparison to this version. This version is still the best and will probably continue to be. The acting, music and directing are hard to beat. I want to buy this series but I'm waiting to see if it will come out on DVD. With DVD players costing less than $100, who buys vcd players nowaday? My DVD player can't play VCDs or else I woundn't mind it so much. It will be a huge bonus if it comes with English subtitles. (Seems too much to ask for, so I don't hold too much hope for this.)I don't think I can wait too long for the DVD set. If it doesn't come out this year, I guess I'll have to buy the CD set and then burn it onto DVDs. What a big hassle, but it'll be worth it. |

classic epic
| This is the first Chinese-language series to capture my attention as a kid, even though I had to watch it over 10 times in order to understand (my Cantonese wasn't very good). It left a huge impression with me and kept me interested in TVB series until close to the late 80s. Nowadays, there really isn't much to capture or hold my attention, so I return to this classic time and time again. A true classic that deserves a full-release (read: no cuts!) on DVD with English subtitles and special features. Might we see something for the 25th anniversary of its release? Probably not...TVB wouldn't know a marketing opportunity even if it hit them in the face. |
