　　這部金庸電影拍攝於1980年，由張徹導演，倪匡與張徹攜手編劇，錢小豪飾胡斐、郭追飾苗人鳳、鹿峰飾胡一刀、黃敏儀飾程靈素、楚湘雲飾南蘭。故事描述，十八年前，胡斐之父一刀（鹿峰），與苗交換刀劍比武，被己刀傷，繼而身亡，原來胡之刀早被田歸農（江生）塗上毒藥；苗妻南蘭被田勾引，竟拋夫棄女，後田更以毒粉弄瞎苗雙眼；斐見苗受此遭遇，決定代其向藥王求救，亦因此碰上一生中最愛的藥王傳人程靈素……

　　Revered director Chang Cheh co-wrote this showcase for a new discovery. Bloody thrills and superlative fight scenes buoy this exciting tale of revenge, which was choreographed and features cameos from the director's three most popular "Venoms": Kuo Chue, Chiang Sheng, and Lu Feng. Already famous for starring in more than a dozen films, here they lend their extensive expertise to Chien Hsiao-hou, who went on to star in such classics as Mr. Vampire and Fist Of Legend.

Based on the same Jin Yong's novel, this as compared to another Shaw Bros movie "New Tales of the Flying Fox" (by Wong Yat Wai in the mid-80s) definitely lose out! In terms of swordplay, choreography and many others, the latter for sure is more superior. Quite a disappointment with director Chang Cheh for his weak effort in this movie.

I have anxiously awaited the Celestial release of yet another amazing venoms film.It is a nice change to see Chiang Sheng as a villain.The swordplay is of course in top notch venoms fashion.Although Lu Feng's time is limited,his swordplay against Kuo Choi is incredible.The finale seems to be on a familiar set(ODE TO GALLANTRY,BRAVE ARCHER 3)but to get a chance to watch Kuo and Chiang fight each other with double swords...is amazing.Ode to Gallantry is going to be released next month by Celestial and this film and "Ode" are two of the rarest besides "Traps".

Classic Venoms Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
They dont come much better than this. Excellent storyline, and fantastic swordplay - choreographed by & starring the main Venoms, Kuo chui, chiang Sheng & Lu Feng. Just how cool is Kuo chui as the golden face Buddha, invincible in the martial world? One of my favourite venoms films. Do not Miss.
