Eye-popping action Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"Shadowless Sword" tells of a subjugated people reaching out to their former prince to lead them back to power and glory. The film focusses on a lone warrior, played by Yoon Soy, leading the reluctant prince back to his people and on the challenges they confront along the way.

Yoon Soy delivers a riveting performance, looking absolutely gorgeous and showing some real athletic grace in performing her spectacular martial arts stunts. The rest of the cast looks great and performs well, although the film would have benefitted from a leavening of humor.

Amid the practically unceasing astonishment of the film's jaw-dropping martial arts action, "Shadowless Sword" successfully develops its themes of loyalty, duty, and fulfilling one's purpose in life. Highly recommended for action film buffs.

Director's Cut? Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I've watched and enjoyed the original version of this film...would someone tell me what is special about this Director's Cut (eg. add'l minutes, development of characters, etc...)...I still don't know the value of purchasing this special version...there's no details of it in the description, nor by any reviewers so far...

A little too cliche Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
The storyline was really really simple. However the fight scenes were awsome! Especially for a Korean film. However, for some reason Korean Directors are trying really hard to make their movies "stylish". Imagine, Hero + Crouching Tiger + Jack Sparrow(Pirates of the Carribean) + Drama stars = Shawdowless Sword.

... in the style of crouching tiger hidden dragon ...

I really enjoyed Crouching Tiger, and if you did too then you will like this one.

Good acting and Chinese style martial arts. Not too mystical and dreamy with great action. The scene in the water was a bit much.

I am interested in watching Korean movies with English subtitles to help me learn the Korean language. This film is interesting enough to watch over and over in an effort to learn Korean.

Pretty good Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The only problem I had with this movie is that the actors did not do a good job on the wires. They did too many unnesessary spins so it looked kind of funny. The actors were were ok and all but I would of prefered real Martial Artist to come and play the roles. Aside from all of this it was pretty good. I like it when Chinese and Korean people work together to make a movie.

A Fine Martial Arts Flick Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I really enjoyed this movie. While the plot may be simple, its a great action/adventure. It reminds me of the old swashbuckler movies, like Robin Hood and Ivanhoe.
I loved Yoon Soy in the role of Soha, always so calm, cool and collected, even in the face of danger. She epitomizes grace, class and beauty.
The Limited Edition contains great extras like deleted scenes, documentaries, trailers and even the soundtrack. Definately worth checking adding to your collection.

Could be better... Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
I think this director tried too hard to make this into a EPIC movie. Needed a better make up artist, The guys look like asian Pirates of the Carribean.
there was come decent fight scenes, but I don't get this STRIKE A POSE! thing... It's like everytime someone kills off somebody they have to "pose" after. A little overdone for my taste....The fight scenes were fairly good, but please take away the parts shooting out of the body thing, been done a long time ago..it looks retarded now. Not much to the plot, the actresses were the only thing worth watching. Could probably watch this in fast forward and still understand the movie...anyways like I said could be better.

Highly entertaining Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Cool fight scenes and passable story makes for an entertaining view. I liked it enough that I'm gonna buy the DVD. This and Shinobi, Heart Under Blade... The main actresses for both these movies are HOT.

Surprisingly good... Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I've always been skeptical about Korean wuxia/fantasy swordplay flicks. I've seen clips from "Musa," "Bichunmoo," etc., but nothing caught my eye as much as the trailer for "Shadowless Sword." Seeing as the action was choreographed by the same team that did much of Jet Li's "Once Upon A Time In China" series, I figured it had to be decent.

I've watched the movie twice now, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. The plot is simple, yes, but at least it's easy to follow unlike the crazy stuff found in "House Of Flying Daggers." What really stands out, though, is the action. There is plenty of it, and although the film does more of a fast/hectic/cut-scene type of swordplay, it is still exciting to watch. The film is shot beautifully as well, with lots of vivid colors and contrasting scenes. The acting and parts of the dialogue are kinda bad in spots, but that's forgiveable. Yoon So-yi lives up to her hype as one of the premiere Korean action heroines, and I was also pleasantly surprised by the performance of newcomer Lee Ki-yong. Shin Hyun-joon was solid as always, though there isn't really that much room for character development in this movie.

Entertaining movie, no doubt. Best Korean movie of this genre to this date, in my opinion.
