一個和武俠小說「笑傲江湖」男配角林平之同名同姓的保險業務員，在發生一連串倒楣事之後，開始每天接到一通不出聲的電話，極為重視客戶關係的他，因為這通電話遷怒於不相識的陌生人。

為了挽回自己的人際關係，林平之接受客戶兼好友愛肥的指點，追蹤無聲電話的來源，赫然發現電話撥出者是一個叫做岳靈珊的女孩。

岳靈珊，一樣有著武俠小說配角的名字，冥冥中是不是注定了什麼事情呢？
在信用卡客服中心當客服員的岳靈珊，跟林平之一樣，成天對著電話講個不停，服務不同客戶的需求，也老是會發生倒楣事，包括每天這通根本不是自己打出去的電話。

沒有人打？那手機怎麼每天都響？林平之跟岳靈珊決定一起在家裡等這通可能是鬼打的電話，等到最後兩人都談戀愛了，還是沒有找到那隻鬼。
