イラクの街角にある小さな墓標には、こう記されていた。「お父さん泣かないで、私たちは天国の鳥になりました」…米軍によるイラク侵攻が始まった2003年3月、バグダッドで米軍入城の瞬間を取材していたジャーナリストの綿井健陽は、あるイラク人女性の姿に衝撃を受け早速バグダッド市内のイラク市民の惨状を取材。そして、日本のマスメディアが次々と引き上げてゆくなか、現地に留まり約1年半に渡って取材活動を続けた。本作品では、123時間余りの取材映像の中から、空爆で3人の子供を失ったアリ・サクバンと、クラスター爆弾で右目を負傷した少女ハディールを軸に、戦火のイラクで懸命に生きる人々の姿を丹念に追った。世界各国の紛争地域をリポートしてきたジャーナリストならではの取材と視点からイラクという戦場で起きている事実を捉え、"イラク戦争"とは何なのかを鋭く問う、メッセージ性の高いドキュメンタリー作品。その真摯な内容から、2005年ロカルノ国際映画祭人権部門最優秀賞を受賞したのをはじめ、各国の映画祭で注目を集めた。 ■映像特典：特典DISC付
