Fantastic CD, but it just never clicks Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Ai Chan's 3rd offering contains some fantastic writing but unfortunately seems to lack a lot of the tonal qualities of earlier albums. Her song writing here is in a lot of ways better, but it does feel like it's a transition phase for her. You start to hear the sounds of the first two albums dying away and the sound of later work trying to find it's place.

In some of the songs her delicate voice is some what washed away by over-powered guitar heavy backings that don't seem to have had much thought put into them, but you are held in by the engaging melodies that keep the songs alive.

The production is spattered unevenly across the album and I can't say that there is much of a feeling of joy in the majority of the songs, but it is, once again, something very different. Ai Otsuka has achieved an interesting side-note to her career in Love Cook, but I can't say it ever works as well as the other albums both before and after.

Brilliant and Touching album! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Ai Otsuka starts to show her fans and J-pop followers her demensions and other talents. In this album, songs like SMILY and U-Boat are instantly catchy and immensely likeable, plus the funny and funky Ramen 3 minute Fun Cooking which features Ai-chan talking on the phone to herself about Ramen, highly adorable. But in addition to having the fun songs she's known for, she has beautiful ballads on here as well. The 2 the come to mind are 5:09am, which starts with Ai singing calmly and exploding into the chorus with powerful rock guitars. Definitely a favorite of mine. And the other ballad is the exer popular Planetarium, which features flutes in the background as part of Ai's chrous. A very cute and emotional song and I dare anyone to hear that song and say that she can't sing! Overall, this is Ai's best album. But if you are looking for the neverending happiness of LOVE PUNCH, you might be disappointed in this work. Definitely a treasure in my eyes
