Own This Good Musical Treasure
| While various pop artists from different music companies have their songs recorded onto compilation albums is common practice ((nearly) weekly, for pop chart purposes, and other compilation albums which have been recorded with either a mix of the best hit songs of the 1970's to the present, or from just one/two music period - 1980's and/or 1990's, or one specific music genre - rock, R&B, alternative, or folk, etc......) in Western countries like Australia; New Zealand; Canada; The United Kingdom; and The United States Of America; etc......; not only until recently have Hong Kong have adopted this practice. Finally H.K. is catching up with the times. "Love Forever" is an example of this. "Love Forever" contains hits of the day and classics by the not so famous, and superstar singers, covering the music periods of 1980's to the present. Let's hope Hong Kong will adopt this practice, because this makes most of these albums quite worthwhile to very worthwhile purchases. Who knows? These albums may well serve a very meaningful marketing purpose in this currently struggling Hong Kong pop music market. They may also set a standard for Hong Kong lyricists to look back (especially the pop songs of the 1970's to the mid 1990's) at what made lyrics so meaningful to the listeners' ears back then, than to most of today's pop songs. Also music executives need to put money wisely into where the mouths belongs, by not over-exploiting some current stars and train some of them to sing properly (with the exception of a very talented few - I especially love listening to songs of Jacky Cheung and of the so called "sut lik pai" (professional) pop singers, eg. Priscilla Chan, Sally Yeh, Hacken Lee, Anita Mui, Jade Kwan, Shirley Kwan, the late Mr. Leslie Cheung, etc......, plus singers who co-produce their albums, and/or writes their own music and/or pop artist/s' music - and can sing beautifully to their respective music genre/s of songs, eg. Denise Ho, Candy Lo, Paul Wong Kwun-chung (Beyond), etc......). Singers' main purpose is to sing. I mean to sing competently with good singing techniques and a great singing voice, and to sing effectively with emotions above everything else (which includes good looks, performing talent, stage presence and/or great dancing, etc......). This is an album worth purchasing for most people across most age groups. Most slightly older to (maybe) older audiences will love listening to the pop songs of the 1980's and 1990's, and most of the much younger listeners will love listening to the likes of Kelly Chen, Twins, Chiu Chung-yu, vice versa or both lot of audiences will love listening to whole album, whatever their preference/s shall be. |

I meant two songs with Mr. Joey Tang
| My sincere apologies to Mr. Joey Tang for the blunder. Mr. Tang is a respected composer-singer (and maybe a music producer (for which I'm not 100% sure)) of Hong Kong pop/rock music and I personally appreciate his contribution to the Hong Kong pop music scene. I believe Hong Kong desperately needs more composer-singers (who most of them also produce or co-produce their own works and of other pop singers) to fill this fairly large void in its pop music business. Overall a very good album containing some of the best songs as I already have mentioned. Please enjoy Anita, Sally, Faye, Kelly, Twins, Danny, the two Joeys, the two Sandys, Hacken, and etc.'s music. I believe most of you will. Long live Hong Kong pop, rock, alternative, R&B, etc. music! |
