Korea's popular modern rock trio band Loveholic recently lost a member when lead vocalist Ji Seon signed with a different agency to pursue her solo career. One of the group's core members, Kang Hyun Min, who had written and produced hits for many artists, founded Loveholic in 2003. After releasing their debut album Florist, the trio topped the music charts with the self-titled smash Loveholic and went on to release two more albums. Fans put Ji Seon's charismatic vocals in the same category as Jaurim's Kim Yoon Ah, and soon the group's lead singer became the center of attention. Unfortunately, Dramatic & Cinematic marks Ji Seon's last act with Loveholic before venturing out on her own, but Loveholic promises to march on. The group plans on finding a replacement through auditions.

Dramatic & Cinematic is filled with Loveholic's unforgettable melodies and infectious sounds that have been featured in popular dramas and movies like Singles, One Fine Day, My Lovely Sam-Soon, The Snow Queen, 200 Pound Beauty, and Christmas In August.

I didn't say it was great only because I have so many of their songs on other CDs. I was so excited to see a new Loveholic CD that I didn't read what songs were included before I ordered it.

I attempted to make a list in English. My Korean is shaky (at best), so please forgive in advance :)

Simply irresistible Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
There are few musical artists capable of keeping me interested through 25 consecutive songs, but listening to all of the songs on this wonderful compilation album straight through is pure joy. Loveholic's "Dramatic & Cinematic" is an essential collection for all lover's of today's pop/rock music.

The album features exquisitely written songs set in supportive arrangements capped by Ji Seon's memorable vocals. While many of the songs will be very familiar to Loveholic fans (11 or 12 of the songs also appear on the three previous Loveholic albums that I own), it is wonderful to hear even those familiar songs in this new setting. The songs that are new to me contain some great surprises. For example, I loved the live recording of "Maria" (the theme song from "200 Pound Beauty") that ends this album; I had no idea that this band could rock so hard and that Ji Seon would sound so brilliant outside of the recording studio.

While I am disappointed to learn that Ji Seon has decided to leave the group, I look forward both to her solo work and Loveholic's future efforts with a new singer. The Ji Seon-led group has left us with a spectacular parting gift with this "Dramatic & Cinematic" album. It gets my very highest recommendation.

Great compilation album Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is a great compilation of the best of Loveholic and celebrates the vocals and writing talents of this amazing group in one package. For those who are new to Loveholic and love ballads, this is a great cd to get.
