Great Drama, Mediocre DVD Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This is one of the most original and unique Korean dramas ever made, and I enjoyed it ever since it first aired back in 1994. It is only ten episodes, unlike other series, and is well-paced, making it easier to watch.

The downside of the DVD is the quality, which is why I only rated this 4/5 stars. The back of the DVD says 'Please understand that the original "M" master tapes are over 10 years old. This may slightly impact the overall quality of some episodes." It seems as if they merely just transfered the contents of the master tapes to DVD, in other words, hardly any retouching done to make the few artifacts and graininess plaguing the video quality less apparent. Yes, I understand this is a pretty old drama, but at least the video quality (I give it 3/5 stars) isn't as disappointing as the audio.

If they couldn't do anything much about the video quality they could've tweaked the audio a bit in some scenes. Episode 3 sounds the worst of all because the spoken dialogue is slightly muffled and often hard to hear, but is tolerable at least. Overall it is mostly audible, but subtitles are useful if you don't understand a word of Korean. I give the audio 2/5 stars.

In case you're wondering if the Bitwin and YA editions are the same, they pretty much are identical in terms of video and audio quality, but the Bitwin edition seemed to have removed the opening titles and tweaked the audio in some places in contrary to the YA edition. They also removed the text (such as "Stay Tuned...") which you see in other series. The Bitwin edition, which has long since been out of print, included clips of Shim Eun-Ha early on in her career unlike the YA edition which merely includes the first episode of All About Eve and Damo.

Overall I give this DVD a 3/5. It would have been higher if they had tweaked the audio to make it sound much butter and did some retouching to the picture quality. Anyways, I am happy to have this series on DVD, but I would have gladly waited for something a bit better.

1 more thing Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Don't listen to Mrs. Love, she rated pretty much all the shows she saw a bad rating. She shouldn't watch Korean movies/dramas if she's going to critize em all. People like her are annoying! If u don't like any of them, why keep watching???

Interesting premise. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Just by the sheer originality of the premise of this series makes it an excellent topic of discussion afterwords.

It is a great loss for Korean cinema that Shim Eun-ha has stopped making movies. Let's hope she reconsiders.

Impressive!!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This drama is so good for Summer! When I was in Korea back in early 90's I watched it and felt so interesting. I remember because I missed last part, I looked for that for a long time....Now I only have this with VHS tapes at home. I clearly remember when it broadcated in MBC, this was 10 episodes drama, as it was special drama for the summer only. The below reviewer said 14 episodes but I think there is some confusing with another drama.
I especially liked Shim Eun Ha and Kim Ji Soo. They played their roles very well, and I felt sympathy for them. Last part was....bit sad.
Anyway, if you like Shim Eun Ha, you can see quite impressive acting in this drama. I am happy to have this TV series in DVD.
Hope I can have it sooooooooooon~!!!!

Missing some episodes Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I've seen this on TV 10 years ago and it was one of the best Drama that MBC has made. This was originally more than 10 episodes. I think it was about 14 episodes. I guess they had re-edit the whole thing because they couldn't bring back some of the scenes since it's been more than 10 years old. I own the Korean version, which has no subtitles but the cover of the DVD looks much better than this US version. I hope they put the same special features that korean version has, it shows the early days of Shim eun ha (it's really hilarious). I still give this dvd a 10 because it brings back memories.

Yes! Finally! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Yes! I am so excited "M" is coming out on DVD with English subtitles. "M" is ranked as one of the most watched Korean dramas of all time. It was released in 1994, but it is still one of the highest ranking dramas ever. The story is so different than the "average" K-drama. This one will scare you. Freaky.
