Based on the classic best-selling novel by Miyazaki Kohei, Maboroshi no Yamataikoku (a.k.a. Where the Legend Lives) revolves around the search for Yamataikoku, an ancient nation of the Yayoi period whose historical location remains unknown today. A gentle, moving feature from hit-making director Tsutsumi Yukihiko (20th Century Boys), the film stars Japanese Cinema favorite Takenaka Naoto as a blind retired man obsessed with finding Yamataikoku. His quest takes him and his wife, played by acclaimed actress Yoshinaga Sayuri (Kabei - Our Mother), on a hearty journey through the country. Maboroshi no Yamataikoku's supporting cast includes Kubozuka Yosuke, Kazama Toru, Yo Kimiko, and Osugi Ren.
