「週刊少年サンデー」に連載された満田拓也原作による人気漫画をアニメ化した「メジャー MAJOR」。プロ野球選手だった父の夢を受け継ぎ野球に打ち込む少年の成長を描いた長編漫画の原作14巻までに当たる内容を全26話で描いた1stシーズンは、2004年11月からNHK教育他で放送。2005年12月より放送スタートした2ndシーズンでは、原作第14巻〜33巻まで、主人公・吾郎の中学〜高校時代の半ばまでが描かれた。2007年1月からスタートした第3シリーズは、海堂高校をやめた吾郎が野球部のない高校に転入し、そこで新たな仲間を集めて、打倒海堂高校を目指して野球に打ち込む姿を描いたストーリー。そしてこの第4シリーズでは、ついに吾郎がメジャーリーグに挑戦した。 ■映像特典：設定資料集
