クッパの体の中と外、２つの視点で進む物語。クッパとその体内にいるマリオたち。それぞれを切り替えながらプレイ。時には身体の内側から、クッパをさりげなくサポート。フィールドには、一見進めないところや仕掛けがたくさん。クッパは力まかせに、マリオたちは力を合せたブラザーアクションで進んで行きます。個性豊かなアクションで道なき道を切り拓きます。

タイミングよく操作することで、敵により大きなダメージを与えたり、敵の攻撃に反撃したりできるアクションコマンドによって、白熱したバトルが楽しめます。また、強力なスペシャルアタックも用意されています。
