Mario is bringing his party to the Nintendo DS! Mario Party DS extends the popular franchise to the Nintendo DS, complete with all new challenges and minigames, as well as wireless connectivity for up to four players. Like the other games in the series, Mario and pals progress as in a board game, with each square holding challenges and minigames in which the character must collect numerous stars to win. Minigames and challenges involve full use of the DS touchscreen, stylus, and microphone, creating new interactive possibilities that should excite even the most Mario Party-hardened. The game also supports single cartridge multiplayer, allowing some minigames to be played by up to four DS owners with just a single cartridge!

In an amusing innovation, Mario Party DS pays tribute to the Nintendo DS's smaller dimensions with its story. The background for the single-player game involves Mario and friends getting shrunk to the size of chess pieces by Bowser. Completing the game means more than just defeating Bowser - it means returning to original size! Also, Mario and friends must face off against large, monstrous versions of such classic foes as Goombas, Koopa Troopas, Piranha Plants, Boos, and Shy Guys. Playable characters include Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Yoshi, Toad, Wario, and Walugi. With multiple game boards, unlockable minigames, and the full cast of Mario characters to control, there's no end to the portable fun in Mario Party DS!
