Songs composed, arranged and produced by Mark Lui have created numerous miracles in the Hong Kong music industry. He once formed the band Dry with the actor-turned-director Stephen Fung, but he is far more famous as a producer and songwriter than a singer. He first rose to his fame by writing songs for Leon Lai and making Leon's songs staying on the top of the chart for a prolonged period of time. Since then he has collaborated with countless hot idols in Hong Kong, including Kelly Chan, Leo Ku, Eason Chan, Miriam Yeung, Andy Hui, Edmond Leung, Alex Fong, William So, etc. He is also a disciple of the late music genius James Wong.

Mark Lui - Best collects 51 songs from this gifted musician which showcases his music talents at once! The 3-CD combo alone is a marvelous musical gem that all canto-pop lovers cannot afford to miss. I'm a huge Mark fan since 95 when he first worked with Aaron Kwok. This Collection has most of the best hits in 10 yrs of his career. I wouldn't say it's a must buy, but it's definitely a good buy. Too bad there are no songs from the 'DRY' albums, but it's no biggie cos I got them all. What about Happy 2000? seems like the collection is missing some other great hits.

I really love Mark Lui very much, he's the best man in the world, no one can replace him. I hope I have a chance to meet him on day. By the way, I'm really jealous of his gf! Anyone who can be his gf will be very blissful!!!

King of Hong Kong Pop Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Mark Lui is the king of Hong Kong Pop.

He is the defining songwriter in the recent decade of Hong Kong Pop music. He changed the way Hong Kong commercial music sounded with the new wave of dance tunes.

His talents do not stop there. Disc 3 showcases the slow ballads that every karaoke go-er has sung. They have been the best of the best songs in the past decade and it's no coincidence that the top Hong Kong keep on going back to Mark to provide them with the hits.

It is difficult to stay at the top for a long time but Mark has shown that he can continue to produce chart-topping hits year after year.

We'll eagerly await for Mark's new hits and hope in another 10 years, there will be a volume 2 of this compilation filled with another load of super hits.

With no doubt all tracks in this collection are hits but seems most of them are too "old". I still prefer the recent Gold Label collection of karaoke hits.
