　　本鄉猛是一名智慧過人、對未來充滿熱誠的青年人。可惜一次意外，他被邪惡組織索加所擄，繼而被改造成一個具有「蝗蟲」力量的幪面超人1號。從此，這位熱血青年忘了自我，更忘了自己的理想，變成了該惡勢力組織的超級守衛，任由控制，到處破壞。一次偶然的機會，本鄉猛突然甦醒過來，意識到自己受到索加的操控，背棄了自己的理想。就在出走組織期間，他被誤以為是殺害雜誌記者綠川明日香未婚夫的疑兇，令他悲痛不已。更甚的是本鄉猛被視為是索加的叛徒，索加為了除去他，派出的外形酷似1號的幪面超人2號一文字隼人去追殺他。一文字隼人假意接近綠川明日香，企圖引出本鄉猛。為了保護綠川明日香，本鄉猛決定現身，與一文字隼人決一死戰。兩名外形相若、實力相近的超人，激烈的打鬥中，究竟鹿死誰手呢？
