Sky City - 40,000 People Live Concert ~ Mayday

Mayday, the Taiwan No. 1 rock group, has released an album on their latest comeback concert.

There are many new singing groups each year in Taiwan, especially when male singing groups have been extremely popular in recent years. Despite being able to become "popular" because of the money splashed by the publishers on marketing and promotion, most of them are no true singers. Fortunately, Mayday is among the few which are recognised by fans as true musicians and singers.

There are 27 marvellous pieces, including songs in the latest release "Time Machine", in this live concert album "Sky City 40,000 People Live Concert".

The live performance of Mayday is impressive and as good as the ones in studio. Fans at the concert were definitely absorbed in the magic of rock and roll as Mayday made fine adjustments to perfect their performance in both up-beat rock songs and ballads. Songs like "Ren Sheng Hai Hai" (CD1, Track#14), "Zhi Ming and Chun Jiao" (CD2, Track#10), "Ability To Rock n' Roll" (CD1, Track#2) and "Bisexual" (CD2, Track#4) are outstanding.

However, the publisher should really pay attention to the poor sound quality of the album. Most of the time the noise of the crowd/background is too loud and it actually covers the voices of the singers. That is very annoying as one can hardly sit back and relax with that high level of noise.

Another Great Mayday Concert Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Another Great Mayday Concert.
Some unusual highlights such as Ming in a swan tutu, Ashin on drums and the band performing a dance number at the end.
The DVD came with a nice softcover limited edition book, not sure how much longer it will come packaged with this extra, so you might want to get this asap.
My complaint is on some of the editing, especially the disconcerting and too frequent cutting away to the fans/audience closeups when focus should be more on Mayday during some of the songs' performances. If the editor must insist on having so much of this, alternative angles on dvd should have been provided for those of us turned off by this. Mayday 2000 Tour concert had extra angles. Since there is about 1 hour on each dvd disc, they could have easily done this. The way some of the editing was done, I had the odd feeling that I was missing out on parts of Mayday's performance maybe because of this heavy emphasis on fans closeups. I would have preferred blurred shots/stills, backviews of Mayday, or faraway stage views rather than fan/audience closeups. Maybe if enough of you agree with me and complain about this to Rock Records or whoever is the editor, it won't happen again.
Overall, still a great concert worth having.

I think Mayday always product a quality album. So I always buy their CD with confidence! This is a great album with lots of Mayday's best hits! This concert is real high & cool! Am the lucky one who can see this concert "Live" for those who miss it, what are you waiting for?? Quick grab one of this album!!! Everybody should own one of this~~~ Esp for rock fans~~~

The first time I know them was when they having their third album, I know them through the 'Super Sunday', that was the last time they appeared in the TV shows and they were going to the army training. The reason that made me fell in love with their music was the way the made thier music, they had try so hard to make their music, they never give up with their music even though they were no one music company like their music!!they kept trying until they met the rock record! Rock record had gave them the chance and they didn't dissapointed the rock record, you can tell from the success that had made right now even they had stop for almost 2 years, no fans have forgotten them and all the fans including me had waiting for this concert for a long time!!Now, we have the chance to take a look what they had done in the 2 years, for me, they are growing mature and their music still the best for me, MAYDAY, they never make me dissappointed on them, and I'm so glad that they are back right now!! From them, I had learned not to give up myself on my path to success.....I would like to say "thank you" to Mayday, without them, it sure will be a hard time for me when I was facing all the trouble and suspicious by myself, because of their stury, I had made it over, Thank you, Mayday!!
