What a SMASH HIT!
Shiina Ringo has quickly become one of my favourite artists--she is so pure and so natural...she does not follow the popular trends in Japan, instead she CREATES them. She is bold and innovative, and a HOT artist. When I got this Single, I was awestruck at track 1: Mayonaka ha Junketsu--beatifully orchestrated! There are so many well balanced sounds, so many instruments...is it Jazz or is it Classical? Neither--it is Shiina's style blazing through again and setting a new trend! This is so good...I am so excited to see what she does next. The other 2 tracks are real bonuses to her fans. ~Nadia

Positively Refreshing
Since seeing the video for Gips, Shiina Ringo has become one of my favorite (if not favorite) singers. The video for Mayonaka ha Junketsu is hilarious and very Shiina Ringo. Once again she refuses to have herself categorized into one style, but is verstatile enough to be in all styles. A friend and I saw the video today and bought the single the minute the video ended! All 3 of the tracks on the single are just as good as her album songs.

Yes it's Ringo
Shiina Ringo still remains as one of the most original singers out there. Writing all her own songs, and with unique vocal talents makes her a legend. Although I am her fan but I am dissapointed that she got pregnant. I will still keep on supporting great her.

Expanding Horizons
This is just outstanding work from Shiina. Straying away from the alternative rock sound and into the realms of Ska, Big Band and pure Pop respectively, Ringos voice has never sounded better. "Mayonaka ha Junketsu" recalls early 80s Two-Tone Ska wwith a Madness sounding horn section. The drummer is phenominal on this track. "Shido to Hakushuumu" is a lush big band vocal vehicle. Shiina sounds incredible (especially in the lower register at the start) but nearly becomes engulfed by the wonderful orchestration, which sounds like it could've been arranged by Billy May or Nelson Riddle. An astounding achievment. "Aisaika No Choushoku" is just a great pop track. This is far and away the most mature release of Shiina Ringo's career. A must buy.

Great single!
I was concerned when I heard she got married a few months back, thinking her popularity might nose-drop just like Amuro Namie. But then again, I thought she wasn't one of those idol singers either; after all, she is an ARTIST. This song has a new style comparing to her other singles, this one has poppy rocky kinda tune to it, and it works like a charm. Super Karismatic Ringo rules~~~
