October 31, 2008 Decent at best
To be honest, this album disappointed me, but is still an improvement over his horrific previous album, "JTV". I believe that the only tracks that are worth listening to in this album are tracks 1 (Thirty Days), 3 (Believe Me), and 4 (Undefeated). If you can splash out the money to buy an album just for a few good songs in a poor album, get it; otherwise don't bother with it. The ending songs are just terrible, "intoxication" seems like a rip right off Billy Talent's "Surrender" melody, and it seems to leave Justin's classic grooving style. Most people who buy this album probably buy it for the actress side of Linda, rather than the quality of the singer. 3 words : This Album Sucks. Period. Her voice is not well fitted for singing, kind of like hearing an accent. Her voice is very high-pitched, but rather sandy and inaccurate at that range. Very disappointing for a first album. October 31, 2008 Excellent, recommended.This album is great... one of the best in 2008.
Pros : This is a great improvement over. With double the tracks than her previous album, she has really stepped up the quality in her songs. The melodies are very good in each song, and her vocal parts are very well written. From the computer-sampled music style in track 3 to the slower ballads towards the end of the album, she has improved in almost every category.
Cons : There are several songs that are sung in a very similar style, so diversity may be a small issue. Luckily a small handful of faster songs helps balance things out a bit.
