Adapted from a true story and staged as "Come and See Me" in 1996, this movie tells a story about a series of mysteries uncovered in an investigation of a rape murder case handled by two cops Song Kang-ho and Kim Sang-kyung. The process of investigation acts like a mirror, revealing the wicked minds of the two men.

The movie received good comments by local reviewers and topped the box office in Korea. Film fans are advised to add this movie to their viewing list.

　　Based on the true story of the first serial killings in Korea.

　　The body of a young woman is found brutally raped and murdered, and similar crimes continue to occur. A special task force, joined by a detective from Seoul and local officer, is hence set up. In spite of the divergent investigation style, detectives find out that women wearing-red on rainy day as the victim's profile. They try to set up a trap to forestall another murder. The next day, however, yet another woman is found murdered - with an umbrella speared through her pubis

Professional Review of "Memories Of Murder (DTS Version) (Hong Kong Version)"

A suprisingly powerful film from the director of the amusing Barking Dogs Never Bite, this film about a serial killer has the tone of Se7en but without the weirdness. More importantly, Memories of Murder has addressed the debate about integrity in police methods with the greatest effectiveness since Orson Welles made Touch of Evil. Song Kang-ho (JSA, The Foul King) is, as always, dynamite as the cop who is obsessed with this case.

Every Korean who sees this film knows, even if I didn't, that this is based on a true story (and from what I can tell is scrupulously faithful to the real events), so there's no reason for you not to know (even if I didn't). The interplay between the city cop and the country cops is well-balanced, and the pacing is sleekly maintained to keep you on the edge of your seat as it works the thriller atmosphere and keeping an aura of authenticity.

Not just the best Korean film of the year, or the best film of the PIFAN festival (though it actually didn't appear in the festival program), but one of the great films of 2003. Certainly the best Korean film since JSA and ... enough superlatives already... this is a ripper and not to be missed if you get the chance!

Superb Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10

This is one of the best detective unsolved story i have ever seen. Up to the end, it will really leave you thinking you did it. The storyline is good. Worth watching.
