宇宙世紀0087 年，地球聯邦軍精英組織「泰坦斯」與反地球聯邦組織「奧干」之間的戰爭仍然持續。加入了干的嘉美尤在「降落地球作戰」之後，干的支援組織「卡拉巴」的小林隼人等人會合，一邊抵抗著泰坦斯的追擊，一邊伺機重返宇宙。奧干在「新香港」補給時，嘉美尤遇上一位神秘的少女「科」(Four)，原來「科」是泰坦斯的強化人，這使嘉美尤的心被愛與苦惱所煎熬。在充滿哀傷之下，科作好心理準備，拼死將嘉美尤送往宇宙去。

在宇宙靜待嘉美尤的，是戰鬥更為激烈的戰鬥，與及新型機動戰士「Z高達」。泰坦斯的作戰手越來越卑劣，先後發動了宇宙殖民地的攻陷作戰和月面都市炸彈襲擊，干的卑格斯准將更被暗殺；另一方面，在泰坦斯的部，「從木星歸來的男子」斯洛哥的勢力續漸擴大。這時，第三勢力舊自護軍的餘黨「亞古捷斯」終於開始行動。嘉美尤的嶄新力量「Z高達」要飛往混亂的戰場去了﹗
